Someone please give me some advice on how to deal with my husband. He shows all the signs of bypolar disorder but will not go to the doctor. He is constantly yelling at my kids and myself. He says that we are lazy and since he is the only one with a steady income he is the only one that matters. One minute his mood is fine and the next minute he is going off the deep end. I am a realtor and he calls me when I am with a client and starts yelling and cursing at me for no good reason. If the house is not perfect he goes off. If he says to do something and it is not done in the amount of time he wants it done in he goes off. If he asks a question he does not even give you time to respond and he is going off. Life has gotten miserable for myself and my children. He says everything is my fault and I deserve whatever he dishes out. I love the way we used to be together but it is like that person does not exist anymore! What can I do? Is there a way to get help or am I alone to deal with this? He has gotten physical in the past but has no memory of it and expects us to forget it just like he did. He thinks that the kids going to school is not enough for him. He wants them to do everything around the house too. I usually make sure that is all done since I work mostly from home but even then he makes them redo everything when he gets home and if I say anything then he accuses me of standing up for them all the time. I tell him that I have to stand up for them and he tells me that we are just out to get him. He has these issues at work too. He has a lot of problems staying at any jobs because of it. But he blames that on the employers. It is always someone elses fault. Can anyone help me, PLEASE? there has got to be a way some how.

There arent "signs" for bipolar disorder. The only way to be diagnosed is to go to the doctor. Sounds like hes a control freak and has anger issues. you shouldnt have to deal with verbal/physical/mental abuse. i believe you need advice locally from someone else qualified

There ARE signs of bipolar disorder. Just like almost every diagnosis in the world has some form of symptoms.

I do agree that you need to seek some kind of counseling. You and your kids don't deserve this. It isn't fair for your children to be subjected to this kind of abuse on a daily basis. As a caring mother, it is YOUR duty to find a solution. Either he goes to a doctor and seeks help or leave him. Things aren't magically going to change.
