Skinny or curvy depends on a person's BMI,
which is their height and their weight. It
also depends on their over all body shape!
Some women are pears, and some are sticks.
Stick women will probably never have
smooth natural curves. Then again, pear
women will never look good as sticks.
You can tell when someone is not at
their natural weight. I happen to be 100
lbs and 5'3". Most girls at my height and
weight would not look healthy, however
that is my natural weight. I've weighed
the same thing since about my junior year
of highschool, and eat when I want,
whatever I want. I've got a butt, and
hips, and breasts at this weight! An
anorexic girl at my size would NOT look
good, she'd look like death walking.
This can thus be confusing, since a
voluptuous girl at my height may weigh
120, and still look beautiful! If I
weighed 120, I'd probably look fat! Muscle
mass is also important. I could weigh 110
with muscle and still look exactly the
same. Fat adds sizes, muscle doesn't (as
much).
As for guys, it's ALL personal preference.
Some guys like skinny girls, and some guys
like to have a lot of butt to grab!
As a straight girl, I happen to be partial
to big swelling hips on ladies ^^, and
smaller breasts.

I'm 5'4 and I usually weight about 135-
(though a little more now, still working
off the darn mirena weight) and I have
what I call a dancer's build- rounder but
muscular. All the weight is in my hips and
booty.
I'm hot!!
but I know you wanted a guy's opinion.....

It's really based on the guy, even within
us individually we have huge different
views of what is skinny or curvy or fat. I
see some girl I view as average and some
dude friends of mine would look at her and
comment what a fat ass she is. For me,
skinny would be pretty much all those
models of the 21st century turn out to be.
They are attractive facially but I don't
like the fact I can see their ribcage,
sternum etc. I keep feeling like I would
break my girlfriends that are like that
when I hug them because they seem so
fragile. It's quite sad in my opinion how
advertisements really affect the concept
of beauty in women so many of them have
this urge to get skinnier and skinnier and
keep viewing themselves as fat despite how
pretty or voluptuous they might be.
I personally prefer athletic curves. Many
curvy girls I noticed didn't get that from
exercising and such, but somehow whatever
they ate went to the right place without
overdoing it so it looks good. But I like
lean muscle curves over that =).
P.S. Don't really pay attention to BMI
unless you have a high body fat percentage
and you know it, it is quite inaccurate
because nobody has bothered to modify it
to be more specific even though its more
then 30 years old and a lot has changed
since then. It only uses your current
weight and your current height to label
you as under, average, or overweight.
Muscle mass tips the scale heavily, so for
any guy or girl that actively exercises
and works out, its a load of bull. I'm 5
11 and weighed 170 at last count, I want
to get to about 175-180, and the BMI tells
me I am overweight. Well you don't know
what I look like except this picture
there, but I'm pretty sure most people
wouldn't classify that lil pic as an
overweight boy with cute rosy round cheeks
-_-. At least I hope not.

Actually, they have refined bmi a lot, if
you test underwater you get pretty
accurate results. But not the mathmatic
one you can do online or even the skin
pinching one, you need to go to a club or
something and pay to get properly tested.

You are describing ways to measure body
fat percentages, not the BMI itself, they
are related but not really. I was
criticizing the BMI chart really, since
does not take into account many variables
such as age, bone density, muscle/fat
ratio, blah blah. What you mentioned, the
Underwater testing, known as hydro
densitometry weighing, and the skin
pinching (the cheap little stick known as
the caliper) just measure body fat.
Whether you have 10% body fat, 5% etc. BMI
won't tell you anything about your body
fat percentage.

Honestly, I dont care what my gf looks
like... I have dated a girl who was model
material 6 food and 110 pounds, and my
current girlfriend who is 5 foot 2 and 200
pounds. I go for personality WAY over
looks.

I don't believe that someone could be 6
feet tall and weight 110 pounds. That's
really tall!! Your bones weigh more than
that. But maybe I'm just
defensive lol.
Appreciate your comment though. I agree,
personality is more important.

As far as I know most guys prefer a girls
with a little meat on them, and curvy
hips to grab onto lol , but personality,
outgoingness is #1.
