Hi everyone my fiance and I just currently decided to start trying for a baby. I just went off my birth control pills a couple of weeks ago but ended up stopping them before the pack was finished because i had forgotten to take them. so i had my period and eveything was normal. I know its unlikely for me to get pregnant this month but its still so exciting. i started taking vitamins today. so i think i will be testing around october 27th, hopefully no period before then lol. so has anyone here concieved right after stopping their birth control. Baby dust to everyone !!!!!

It is uncommon for women to conceive right after they stop bc pills, but it is not unheard of. Hopefully you will be one of the girls that will get preggo right away.

Good luck...and keep us posted on whats going on.

Nope, took me 10 months to get pregnant after coming off birth control. I also stopped before the end of the pack. I had horrible break through bleeding and cramps.. it was not a smart choice on my part. My doctor told me since I didn't finish the pack that it would take longer for my periods to get back to normal. He was right unfortunatly. But now I'm 12 weeks pregnant and very happy. So hopefully it'll happen soon for you! Good luck ttc!

Actually it is quite common for women to conceive soon after stopping bc. I stopped taking my pills and I had a cycle right away then I got pregnant my next cycle. It happened very quickly for me. So hopefully it won't take you too long.

Sending you tons of baby dust!!!!!!!!

you only get a catheter if you decide to get an epidural.. the epidural causes you to be numb from the waist down so they don't want you to get up and walk in order to go to the bathroom.. I had a catheter many times, even when I wasn't pregnant, it really isn't bad and you forget that it is even there...

Thanks for the reply, oh so do they put the catheter in after the epidural? because if so you should really feel anything right lol.

yes.. they put it in after the epidural.. so depending on how fast your body reacts to the medicine will determine everything..

Everyones body is very different.. some woman can stop birthcontrol and get pregnant very soon where as others it can take a long time. Good luck with having a baby!

I was always really hesitant about having to get a catheter, but after I delivered my daughter naturally (no epidural) I had to have one because I really had to empty my bladder but I couldn't do it on my own because I guess I was a really swollen down there just from the vaginal delivery. I didn't even feel it. So I wouldn't stress too much about it if I were you. Plus when you are going through the pain of labor, little procedures like that are really a walk in the park......lol
