After learning from a profesional nutritionist. The Adkins diet focuses on low carb and high Protien. There are many problems with this diet. Your body is vastly water, and when you reduce or cut all carbs from your body, it begins to consume the carbohydrates stored inside your muscle mass, this also has a side affect of you looseing about 10 pounds of WATER weight in about 1 week... that is why people LOVE The results, It is a short term diet made for getting you into thoes old pair of jeans for a date next week. Unfourtinatly. The bad side affect is that your brain uses a mixture of about 75% carbs to 25% fat as fuel. It works the best and makes you peform to your best ability. Though when you cut out all carbs from your diet you starve your brain. Forcing it to only use FAT as a fod source, and if you are wondering "Well if my body is curning fat, then I am looseing it!" Wrong, you are consumeing a VERY large ammount of fat, and generally dont burn it all in a day. Basically, it is equivelent to putting Diesel gas into your car... it will run... but not very well. Expect headaches, and even migranes if you go on this diet, as well as a greatly increased risk of heart failure. Hope that helps!

Alli is the watered down version of Merina (the diet pill that has the oily discharge commercials). Alli will add a FIVE POUND weight loss in ONE YEAR, if you take it consitently and follow the low fat diet plan. If you do not follow the low fat diet plan, you may be subjecting yourself to awful treatment effects like oily discharge and be unable to control your bowels, having accidents that the most inappropriate times. While taking Alli in the beginning it is advised - by the makers - that you do not wear white pants since leakage may be seen through the clothing. There is also staining involved.
Those things are enough for me to think a 5 lb weight loss in one years time are not worth taking a pill that will have me having accidents that are similar to pizza grease. BLECH!

Alli no good unless eating lots of fried food
Alli would only work if you ate high amounts of fat all the time. If you are on a low fat low carb diet plan like I am, it won't work and in fact could be harmful. Your body needs a teaspoon to a tablespoon of oil per day. I take a fish oil supplement and a flaxseed oil supplement. I would not won't it to take the omega oils away with adipose fat and Alli doesn't know the difference. Besides, Ingi is right--who needs all the side effects?

It's really impossible to know whether you can get good info on diet pills from the internet.
Good luck with your research and dieting.

Alli
It didn't work. It destoyed my immune system. When the digestive system is messed with, it can lead to sickness. I have been dealing with constant sickness within a week after taking the pill. GMC has a vitamin pack that will help you loose weight. It isn't worth it. I gained thirty pounds because I am unable to workout because I am so sick.

Alli-severe pain
I took Alli for 2 weeks and started having severe cramping and lower abdominal pain. I never experienced the oily spotty stuff everyone talked about. I thought I just got "lucky". The dr. is still running tests a week later. I say it definately isnt worth it. I hurt all day long. I have been on narcotic pain pill's for the last 7 days. After just 2 weeks on the Alli diet this is crazy!
