I have abnormal uterine bleeding which is
controlled with oral contraceptives...and
my pap smears have been coming back
abnormal. My Dr discussed a hysterectomy
with me, then proceeded to do a cervical
biopsy. I'm fine with having a
hysterectomy...but concerned about my
insurance covering it...and whether not
this is considered elective or not? I have
not discussed this with my Dr yet. Any
help would be great! Thanks!

Partial or full hysterectomy is not
usually under the categorie of " elective
surgery". There is usually always a
medical reason why you have to have one.
Mine was a prolapse uterus and bladder. In
other words both my uterus and bladder
were litterally sliding out of my body. I
had a partail and still have my overies.
So you don't have to worry about your
insurance covering it. Or at least you
should'nt have.
