Q: Plan B?

Am i in need to take a plan b? I'm on bcp's and had unprotected intercourse last night with my boyfriend. I'm on the last pill of my placebo week and i haven't gotten my period. He said their is a slight chance that he got some inside of me and didn't get it out quick enough. His family is very fertile! Is a Plan B pill necessary? I know your covered over tha last week but since i didn't get my period does that change it? I just don't understand how you can be protected still when your not taking any pills/iron pills!

His family doesn't matter as much when it comes to fertility, because you're the one on birth control!

Carifairy actually answered this question really well on another topic. You are protected because that's how the body works is the short answer.

I don't think you need plan b, since the placebo week is almost over. That means your missed period is due to something else anyway, and I really don't think you'd get pregnant right now.

No, missing your period doesn't affect the effectiveness of birth control.

No you're fine Smile Since your period is late, you can go ahead and test. But not getting your period is fine. I mean, most bcp's reduce our periods anyways, and most women think that's a good thing!

Alright thanks you guys. I didn't think i needed to but its just reassuring ot hear it from others also. And i didn't think i would get pregnant just right now, from last night. But i'm testing pretty soon here because i missed it and just want to make sure that if i am i don't drink and that stuff, cause i'm not about to take a chance if i am pregnant. So in about an hour i will have the official answer! Smile I'll keep you guys updated on what i see ( or -) Smile

A hpt is a waste of time, there is a minute chance of pregnancy but even if there were it takes longer than a day or two for an hpt to be accurate.

If you are on bc and taking it correctly you are protected and the chances of pregnancy are slim (as the others have said)
