Q: Question About Ortho Tri-cyclene Lo...

I am wondering which ones in this pak are the placebo pills. In my past experience with different bc pills they have been white, but in this pak, the white ones are the first ones you take when I know they are usually the last ones. The other pills in the pak are light blue (which I am taking now), dark blue and green.

I am asking because I am scheduled to get my period at the end of the month, but I want to skip the placebo pills so I wont get it. I will be on vacation in florida with my boyfriend and having my period will ruin the trip.

Please help!

Just Wondering
I take orthro tri cyclen and my period always come on when I start taking the green ones at the end. I didn't know that it was possible to skip them so your period wouldn't come on. Would that affect anything if I tried it?

With this particular bcp, the placebos are green.

Crissy--in order to skip your period, you would take the three weeks of "active" pills, then instead of taking the placebos, you would start into the next pack. Some women experience breakthrough bleeding when doing this, so you may want to start it a few months ahead of when you actually want to skip your period.

You do NOT get any kind of SCARRING from birth control, okay ? Smile

SOME women take 3-6 months to get a period after BC, it IS normal.

WHEN you start and stop suddenly, your periods can especially be out of whack.

You need to go to a doctor and make sure to tell him/her that you are on birth control. They they can prescribe proper medications that will not interfere.

OVER the counter cold medicines do NOT interfere with the effectiveness of BC Pills.

ANTIBIOTICS, saint johns wort, and some RX drugs DO though.

You would be safe in taking OTC cold medicine.
