I am obviously only discussing the first trimester, the time during which a woman is pregnant before she aborts. It makes no sense to want to be ill like that month after month, when you can avoid being pregnant by taking birth control.

Im Pro choice because some people get raped and molested and some people are MR and autistic and they get pregnant....they shouldnt be forced into keeping the kid....anyhting else i think is ridiculas....you do the crime, you do the time....my dad taught me that

If we were talking crime I'd agree with you but since we are talking a legal elective medical proceedure then I am not understanding why you are equating sex with criminal action.
Consent to sex is not consent to pregnancy. Pregnancy isn't a punishment for having sex.
I'd say from your post you are fairly young and while your idea of pro-choice is a bit notable skewed I do not debate your right to your opinion but why should you determine what is a valid reason for my daughter, who I tend to think is about your age, to obtain an abortion and get rid of an unwanted pregnancy?

For someone who is supposed to be ignoring me, you sure do talk a lot about me, and now you put in writing that you are attempting to intentially badger me. That is against the rules of this site and a moderator should have better judgement than to partake in this behavior. I post what I believe, if that is upsetting to someone then they can attempt to engage me or ignore me.

One last little thing is that I think that if you wouldn't use the word in direct company, you shouldn't use it in polite company. For example, if I am with a group and someone makes a racist slur, I am still offended even if there is no member of the other race around. I will still be offended if someone makes fun of mentally ill people, even if there is no mentally ill individual around...does that make sense?

First of all, I am not pro-life, so don't assume I am because of ONE opinion I stated.

I definitely never said all abortions are done in this manner. I said that SOME are. For SOME women, they think that abortion is the alternative when their birth control (IF they are even using it) fails. And then they resort to this every time they get pregnant. I know because I personally know some women who have done this. I think that would be considered frivolous, however, not ALL women are like that. Just SOME. And some women WOULD do the abortion rather than popping a pill or getting some other worry-free birth control because that's just the way some women are. They think that they are invisible to pregnancy (usually the younger crowd) and BOOM, they get pregnant and resort to abortion. After that first one, they get pregnant time and time again and keep aborting. That is how SOME women use abortion as a form of birth control. I never said ALL women, I said SOME. And that by no means is MOST either.

And you can't use the "being pregnant is awful" excuse either. Not all women are bedridden due to nausea. I, for one wasn't-just like all my friends who have had children weren't either. Yes, the morning sickness can be awful, but not in a sense to make me want to abort just for that sake. So what?

I never said abortion wasn't a horrible experience but if it were really that horrible, why would these uneducated "kids" be going in time, and time again? I know one girl in particular that had 3 (which is the legal limit in some areas) and had to go out-of-state in order to have another. To me, that is ridiculous. Get some condoms or get on the pill.
If you don't want to get pregnant, you should make the necessary precautions. Birth control is offered at a discount, if not free-depending on your income.

You know...you bring up some really interesting points here. I would be interested in knowing what the median age group is of the girls that have multiple abortions. As you said....by no means are all abortions had in this manner....but there is a percentage(small) that do. If they are young girls doing this....then where are they getting the money? Obviously if they are having abortions at some point in their clinic visit they are getting some kind of bc information....why are they not paying attention? And finally....what about their parents? Are they sneaking around behind their parents back or do their parents just not care?
If they are older women....again I ask....how does someone afford multiple abortions when they range in price from $250-$1000 per and in most cases are not covered by insurance. Also....these women are also recieving bc information during their clinic visits(or at least they are suppose to), so why would a grown woman choose an invasive surgery over a pill or condom?
Finally...multiple trips under the knife with anesthetic aren't good for anybody. The risk of infection is high, not to mention what the anesthetic can do to you....so again I have to ask....why?
Maybe I am dense....but I just don't get doing this to your body over and over again.

The parents of these girls may know what they're doing or they may not. Some clinics are under strict patient-doctor privy that is extended to teens under 18.
As for being able to afford these abortions, you don't know if they come from money or not. Some come from money and have it in their reach. Some work. I can see how (If I were thinking like the girl) that I could easily save up my money and get an abortion. Or my boyfriend would be paying half. I dunno!!!!!!!!!

Again, I never said you meant all women. I don't know where you are getting that. I have only been discussing the specific women who you say use abortion as birth control.

Also, there are two different scenarios here. First, you are talking about women who use birth control but it fails, and then they abort. They are NOT USING abortion as birth control.

Then you are discussing women who don't use any bc because they don't think they can get pregnant, but they do, time after time. This is unbelievably stupid, and I believe you that there are people like this, but when you say they use abortion as birth control, they'd have to have an awful lot more than three abortions for that to be the case.

The people you know who have had 3 abortions, over what period of time would you say? And they used no birth control, right? Just had sex, got pregnant, aborted, Had sex, got pregnant, aborted, and continued that cycle.

I didn't use it as a reason for you to want to abort or anyone else. I meant it as an ADDITIONAL reason among the many I stated that all added up to why it is illogical to use abortion as birth control.


I agree with you 100% here. But, if you are pro-choice, what does it matter how many abortions a person has? Just curious.

I didn't say they were using birth control. I said IF they were. Most of these cases are women who use no form at all.

Those 3 abortions in this state were in a year's period. They moved out of state had had 2 more, all within 6 more months. 5 abortions in a year-and-a-half is ridiculous to me and you don't have to agree with that.

It matters because there has to be a line SOMEWHERE. While I think it should be a woman's choice to go through with pregnancy or not, I don't think she should be given the right to have hundreds. (exaggeration of course). You would think by then, this woman would have learned where babies come from.

I became pregnant way before i was ready to be a parent but due to my own personal beliefs i chose to carry on with my pregnancy and i gave birth to my daughter on the 4th July. Neither is stronger than the other they both take different kinds of strength, i really don't think i could ever go through with an abortion because i don't have that kind of strength and likewise i'm sure many other 16 year olds who found themselves in my position wouldn't have the kind of strength needed to carry on with a pregnancy
