Hi all,

For the last couple of weeks I have not been feeling well..

First it started out with headaches, then I couldn't drink or swallow because my throat was so sore. After some home remedies I was ok, but I was still feeling sick. Then the horrible, deep coughs came, I thought I was going to cough up a lung. That subsided, I felt slightly better, but weak and still sick. Then out of the blue comes the most nastiest sore throat I have ever had in my life. The pain is from the back of my throat and protrudes down my neck. The outside of my neck, on both sides, is also very painful, to the touch! Starting from below my ear and continuing all the way down to almost my collarbone. And coughing has come back now. I did not start taking any medication until about 4 days ago, when I took a couple of advil, didn't seem to do much. I got the chills and the sweats without a fever. I can hear my heart in my ear when I lay down to sleep. I have constant mucus from my throat, once I spit up some, I need to do it again, I have buckets full just from today, most of it is light yellow, some of it is dark green and dark yellow, that usually comes when I take a hot shower, or eat garlic, or gargle with something as it helps loosen it up. This last part has been going on for about 2-3 days. The outside of my neck is very painful, and in the morning the insides severely hurt to the point where I do not want to talk and have difficultly eating. I have not seen a doctor yet, have been relying on what I can find at home as I want to avoid seeing one unless it is nessicery. Do I need antibiotics to get rid of this? As it has gone on so long already I would think it is not that serious to need antibiotics, as it would have gotten much worse by now, no? I did go to see an herbalist who gave me a bunch of stuff I am not sure what it is, and since then I seem to have more mucus and more coughing. My throat and neck pain however is the same. I am also noticing little red bumps on the side of my tongue, and there appear to be big red bumps on the back of my throat.

Is this just something I am going to have to wait out?
