I just have to declare that yeast infections are a part of my life. They are chronic, and annoying. I hate them.

Can anyone else relate?

Candida is what it is, do research on getting rid of candida.
Diet change in the works. Do you have a sweet tooth?

It has been said that when we crave sweets it's only the
candida asking for food.

When candida gone we no longer crave sweets and don't
like to eat them anymore. A couple bites are satisfying.

Beging by taking Vit D, not fish oil, 6,000iu daily taper
off when problem fixed.

Of course you'll have to do other things besides the D.

Thanks, Monk.

I do have a sweet tooth, and live in a culture that consumes a lot of bread. I'm ready to make a lifestyle change, but need a little guidance. Will go and buy some Vitamin D. Any other tips?

I have recurrent/chronic yeast infections also. I have had them for going on 8 years. Started out every few months and progressed into every month. They always start approx one week after the end of my period. I've gone to several docs and they just send me away with different meds and it always comes back, one stating I was "just one of those women" who get yeast infections. I've been tested for diabeties and every STD under the sun. After the birth of my daughter it got worse. During my pregnancy my docs said I was a little "yeasty" although I was horribly uncomfortable and just stopped giving me exams and told me the meds to use. The otc meds don't work anymore and feel like they make it worse. I know take probiotics, eat yogurt daily and cut my sugar intake. It's helped some but know the problems are more external with very little yeast. Anybody with info or suggestion? I'll do just about any thing at this point.

FYI --- the Vitamin D tablets are working pretty well. I bought the chewable kind, and have noticed a decrease in the thrush on my tongue. Will check the dosage, but I HAVE seen improvement.

Question : how do you know if you are taking too much Vitamin D? Is this characterized by an astringent taste in the mouth?

I used to get yeast infections on a monthly basis. Once so bad that it actually was spreading down my legs. The doctors always just said that I was "one of those women: who get them alot. He did tell me to eat yogurt daily if possible, and the active cultures in yogurt help fight against the growth of yeast. I listened and it does seem to help. My doctor got so used to me getting them he would give me a 3-4 months supply of Diflucan at one time, so I didn't have to keep visiting him.

Like MOMMAKATIE, I read that yogurt was supposed to help, and also to eat less sugar and foods that contain yeast. Cinnamon is also supposed to help. I tried all of these things together, and I have noticed an improvement with my "yeasty" situation. Not to mention the cinnamon helps to control blood sugar levels, and eating less bread is actually beneficial for the stomach (at least in my case)!

Nice one ... acidophilus is the best yogurt to my knowledge for controlling yeast infections as the active bacteria / good "flora" count is quite high. But it's expensive! And tastes a little strong. I think that there is a powdered version of it. Anyone tried powdered acidophilus?

I haven't tried acidophilus before (not in powdered form at least. If it was the kind of bacteria in my yogurt, I wouldn't know!). I actually never knew a specific type of bacterial culture worked better than others! Apparently you can get "Lactobacillus acidophilus" in capsule form...I'll look into it. Thanks for the tip!

There is an acidophilus in powder capsule form. I recently bought a probiotic with all the ones that our intestines need and make smoothies daily with an organic rather than sugar free yogurt that has 6 active cultures. Also I read online, I forget the site, to insert (yes, insert) one acidophillus capsule nightly for a week or so in place of plain yogurt which is said to work for a treatment. I recommend opening the capsule and pouring it into a tampax tampon and leaving for a while. I was scared the capules would go someplace it shouldn't. I felt like I was getting one so this was the first thing i tried, instead of an otc med. I've tried just about everything to treat the infections and so far this is the only one that had actually made me skip a month w/o an infection. So I'm currently eating tons of yougurt trying to combat the yeast. But if you slip up and eat too much sugar ( like 3 donuts!) you're back right where you started.

chronic yeast infections
My lifesaver from chronic yeast infections, ORGANIC COCONUT OIL. A couple of months ago I began to take a spoonful of organic coconut oil every morning and have not seen a yeast infection since.

I have been going to doctors for 15 yrs about my chronic infection and nothing ever solved this problem for me. I tried diets, dye-free panties and toilet paper, yogurt, garlic, boric acid, prescription creams... nothing helped. I recently read a new study about how coconut oil creates an environment in your intestines that is anti-yeast. Your intestines is actually where the yeast spores form and then cross from the rectum over into the vagina when conditions and hormones are right.

Try it, I hope it helps you. It has been a miracle for me and the only thing that ever helped.

Organic coconut oil.
I have had a non-stop yeast infection since 21 years old. I'm 29. I have been to regular doctors and gyno's. Nobody has an answer for me. I am not diabetic, no hiv, and no thyroid problem. I don't even eat a lot of sugar. I have tried diflucan, gynazole1, garlic, boric acid, monistat, and now I'm gonna start seeing a new gynecologist. I feel the effects of the yeast on my body as a whole. I believe it releases toxins and makes you feel unhealthy. I am going to try this coconut oil. If anyone has any advice for me about yeast, I will be glad to take it............

There is a treatment for yeast infections that guarantees you relief within the first 12 hours or your money back. I was very suspicious to spend money on something I wasn't sure of, but went for it anyway. The stuff I was sure of wasn't working, so this seemed to make a little sense. This article is about the best treatment for yeast infection out there.

First, I want to inform you about what I tried:

I always went to my doctor for his opinion but eventually I stopped because I got pretty good at identifying when a needed some treatment for a yeast infection. I'd get anti-fungal medicine which is supposed to kill all of the Candida that have grown wild.

This worked pretty well but didn't provide me with quick relief and led me to buy creams and skin soothers. The skin soothers do nothing for the Candida but they do relieve some discomfort. This had become my ritual but there was one problem: why was I doing it over and over? I had become a chronic yeast infection sufferer. After that moment, I started seeking a treatment for yeast infection that would bring my life back to normal.

I found a natural yeast infection cure type of website advertising that if I didn't get relief within 12 hours I would get my money back. This was a treatment for yeast infection I hadn't tried yet so I gave it a go and sure enough I felt relief within a few hours. Then I put the full course to the test and again, full satisfaction! The natural treatment for yeast infection had worked so well that I hadn't had a flare up since.

Yeast infections.
I would like to say that I think yeast treatments vary for everyone. I have systemic yeast with an ongoing vaginal yeast infection. I do not feel that I can just order something online that is not approved by my doctors and then POOF....it will all go away. I am taking probiotics on a daily basis, watching sugar intake, and currently on diflucan AGAIN!

Yeat Infection
I have had a yeast type infection under the fold of my skin on my stomach that was very small and I went to a dermatolgist and he gave me some Naftin and Desonide cream to put on it. Within 2 days this yeasty rash spread all under and accross my whole stomach and down to the surrounding area outside my vagina. I went back and told him what had happened and the guy told me to continue to use the creams and on top of that he told me to put some A&D ointment over it to seal it in. He gave me a shot and some Ketaconazole 200 MG pills to take. Within the next 2 days I was in pain and severe itching and of course it got worse! So finally I stopped the creams and called in a MEdrol Dose Pak (I work for a Surgeon) and I immediately started getting better and now the rash is gone but I know it's going to come back and I wondered what I can do to keep it from coming back! I think it is caused from heat and some moisture but none the less I don't want it to come back. Any suggestions?? One thing is for sure I won't go back to that quack of a doctor again for this.

Well- I dont really know too much about skin yeast infections. My doctor did tell me that forms of yeast fungus are: dandruff, ringworm, nail fungus, toe fungus (obvious),jock itch, womanly yeast infection, thrush of the mouth, and entire body skin rash. I was just put on 6 months of diflucan. I took three initial doses and now 1x a week for 6 months. My vaginal yeast infection wont go away. I would rather have a skin rash than a vaginal yeast infection Embarassed

Yeast Infections.
I went and purchased a really excellent book about yeast. I read it in 3 days. Its called Complete Candida Yeast Guidebook -Revised 2nd Edition. Author: Jeanne Marie Martin. I have learned far more from this book than from sitting on the internet for days on end researching yeast! curtsey

I agree a vaginal yeast is pretty miserable! I guess I need to find another Dermatologist that is really good instead of the one I previously went to. Once I find out how to treat this properly, I can call in the meds myself and not have to just keep going to the Dermatologist over and over paying my high copays. And I am also going to look for that book that Shannashaine said she bought. I really appreciate all the info you guys have given me.
