often i get abnormal bleeding, it is
similar to my period, but only lasts
around one to two days. this bleeding
occurs a week before my period and often
when my partner and i have sex (not even
very rough). this has been occuring for a
few months now.
i am on the pill, and have been for about
2years. i have only skipped my period once
in the last 8 months, so the bleeding is
not spotting from that. i am starting to
worry that it could be something serious.
i am going to go see a doctor, i was just
hoping that this may ease my worries a
little.

It is called breakthru bleeding and it can
happen when you are on the pill. Even if
you've been on the pill for quite some
time.
There are other reasons for bleeding after
sex - rough sex (which you already
mentioned you aren't having), and cervical
changes. However, if you have been having
your routine pap smears, that shouldn't be
an issue at all.
Let us know what he says, but my money is
on the birth control pill.

Yeah, I agree. Good to see your doc,
though. You will want to rule out any
weird problems.
Having sex even when it's not rough can
cause small tears in your vaginal walls or
irritate the cervix. Especially if he
fingers you , those nails can be worse
than they seem! But the doc will tell you
for sure. Good luck!

what if you dont have rough sex, nor are
you on the pill and this still happens?
it doesnt last two days at all. its
extremely light and lasts for a very short
amount of time.
am i having problems i should be worried
about?

Is it always after sex?
It's really easy to tear or scratch the
vaginal walls during sex, especially
fingering. If you think that's the cause,
don't worry about it.
But if you don't think that's it, you
might want to mention it to your doctor.
