Hi there,I am new to the boards and Have some stuff to share and want to ask some questions.I visited the doc 2 times, first I was smelling a strange smell 3 weeks ago,I was the only one who could smell the smell...Doc told me it was a viral infection and I was given no medication..I visited the doctore again this time the smell went away and I got very dizzy, mild ear ache, not bad and could not sleep at all.I have been taken the pills he gave me infection pills and pain pills to help me sleep..I only take them 2 more days but yet my head still doesn't feel right it feels heavy and I got dizzy at times...this is all the time ...everytime I get up to walk....should I just go to the hospital..I don't know what else to do? If anyone had this before please let me know will it go away on it's own or I am infected so bad pills can't help me.

i think you need to go to the doctor and get tested for something else. they need to figure out whats causing this

I Agree
I have to agree with The-Girlfriend............if you were diagnosed with a viral infection, why were you not given meds? I do know bacterial can be helped wiht antibiotics, but there are other meds. Also, why was you inner ear not checked, as you were having problems? I jsust told my new neurologsit last week I sometimes smell smoke, or cigarettes or sometimes weird smells. He said this wasa sign of a sinus infection. I'd say find another doctor, but if you can't wait, go to the ER and tell them you are having light headed, having dizzy spells etc. It very well could be somehting that needs attention!

Extremely eHealthy
the dizziness when you get up to walk sounds like inner ear problems to me...

when i busted my ear drum 6yrs. ago i got dizzy and offbalance and passed out
i'd go to the ER or a new doc. and ask them to check your inner ear
and explain your symptoms...
