If the only thing you are facing is a premature BUT HEALTHY baby then you dont need to worry AS MUCH. Yes worry should still be a factor but the added stress can only do more harm than good. Keep up with your research and try to stay focused and happy that you were atleast able to keep the pregnancy thus so far! In todays modern world of medicine there are soooo many options for premature babies, prematurity for the most part doesnt even effect post life fore most children. See what you are capable of passing thru to your child disease wise and keep your head up! Ask all the questions you want at you appointments! and become a book nerd on your free time for diseases passed thru pregnancy and delivery.

I'm concerned how your doctor already knows your baby will be 2 months premature. Then why did he say FULL TERM 4 lbs?

Are you seeing a specialist (perinatolgist) for your pregnancy? You should seek someone who is knowledgeable with your medical condition AND pregnancy.

Prematurity DOES affect children for the rest of their lives, despite what the previous poster said. She is right about more options for premature babies - but this is not something to concern yourself with in the 8th week - worry first about your own health.

Dont quote me please unless youre fully reading what i am saying I said for the most part! Although there are children that prematurity does effect for the remainder of their life it is not for all. I know this from common knowledge, beign a parent, and personal experience.

ingi is right and prematurity CAN AFFECT a baby for their whole lives
it can also be dangerous and cause many diseases and illnesses and complications for the baby
excpecially if they are born TWO months early!!!
