Q: So Annoyed With Pro-lifers Protesting On My Street

Well, I live in Charleston, SC-as some of you may know. I live in an apartment community. The very tiny road that leads into my community has an abortion clinic right across the street. For a few weeks now, EVERY, SINGLE day, there has been a group of pro-lifers with signs that read "abortion kills children," "I regret my abortion," etc.
Don't these people require a permit?
I'm getting aggravated because they park their cars on the lawn of our apartments and picket all day long. No matter if it's raining, whatever.
Whenever I drive by, they all scream at me waving their signs and stuff at me. Yesterday, it happened to be raining, and I purposely sped through the puddle they were standing next to and splashed all of them!
I kind of felt bad afterwards but I'm so aggravated with them disturbing my peace. I have the right to drive to my house without being screamed at and signs being shoved in my face that I do not agree with.
I was thinking today that I'm going to make a sign that reads "Either I get an abortion or YOU pay for my children" The next one reads "YOU DECIDE"
Grrrrrrrr! I'm so aggravated with the bible thumpers. Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Right up the street from my office there are abortion protesers that sit at the entrance of a complex that is full of doctor's offices, one of which is a Women's center that performs abortions, but it's also a clinic for women who choose to continue with their pregnancies. They are not allowed on the complex property, but that doesn't stop them from being there with their disgusting signs and yeah, they yell at anyone who drives through regardless of age.

They sit out there every Wednesday because that is evidently the day that abortions are performed. It really makes me mad, because I couldn't imagine how it must feel to a women who is having that procedure done to be forced to look at the signs and face the ridicule from these lunatics. I was always tempted to waddle myself down there when I was 9 months pregnant, but I was too chicken.

Thankfully the abortion clinic I went to refused to give out their address to anyone that did not have an abortion appointment. And they were also in a huge medical building, unnamed and whatnot.

I can understand how incredibly annoying that is. Check into your city's law office and find out whether they can do that. I'm pretty darn they can't since they're parking on your front lawn and unless they're given permission from the apartment building, that certainly can't be legal.

To be a bit petty, I certainly wonder why these people don't have jobs, or they somehow seem to find jobs that allow them to picket every day of the week. How on earth do they raise their own children Wink

That's just crazy!!

Actually there were quite a few demonstrations recently here due to it being 40years since the Abortion Act was passed but I never actually seen anyone myself. I'd be mad if they were doing it near my house, I know free speech and all but still some opinions I don't need thrown at me when I'm trying to leave my house lol

Exactly.
They would swarm my car whenever I drove by...
I mean sheeze, obviously I didn't have an abortion--my child is VERY visible in the backseat!

I understand free speech, but some people just take it WAY TOO FAR!

How are you supposed to explain to your child why they are pounding on your car because you're going home? It seems pro-lifers only care about the unborn fetus the literally doesn't care about anything! Doesn't matter that they are teaching your children it's okay to harass people because of their decisions!! GRR, they make me so angry!!

Weird.
I just now got a message about a reply to my topic.... only it's been a good 6 months since the reply.

Thankfully, I have moved since I last posted Smile

If my child would have asked (she was too young at the time but is 2 1/2 now), I would just simply say "Honey, these people forgot to take their crazy pills this morning."

So yeah, I have since moved from these apartments but I still have to pass the clinic on the way home. Guess what? They're baaaaaaaaa-ack!
They've been out there steadily with their tent, protesting along the highway.
The elder ones get strollers and put babydolls in them. One sign I read yesterday read, "YOUR mother chose life!"
Well, duh. My mother also chose to do a lot of things, a lot of which I don't necessarily agree with.

protest Perfect little smiley haha. Loves it.

I'm so glad I moved but I can't help but to feel so sorry for the women who have chosen to abort that they have to deal with all of the shouting, signs, and snickering when they are walking in and out. Most of all, I feel bad for the women who are going there for wellness checkups-you know, the ones who chose life. It's not like you can tell which are which.

What you need to do is find a bunch of sulking teenagers and pay them to go across the street from the protesters holding signs that read "My Life Sucks" and "I Wish I Had Been Aborted." Make sure they're solemn and dressed in black.

Also, take a video for the ensuing battle.

Pro-choice unless...
Following is a reply that was posted last night. Looks like the "pro-choice" folks can't look at the truth. So here are the comments again at this issue.

I guess the comments offended someone. Pro-lifers or actually true "pro-choicers" would gladly be willing to show ultra-sound images of the baby to the pregnant mom.

For years we've all been told that the "fetus" (I like to call it what it is, an unborn child) is a glob of cells. Science proves that it is a child. From weeks early on it's a child with fingers & toes & its very own heart. In fact, it has its own DNA. The fetus is a unique individual that happens to be growing in its mother's womb. Depending on its mother for nutrition & life itself.

My 20 year old is the product of a teenage "romance" that almost ended up in abortion. Thankfully, that courageous young lady was truly pro-choice & carried that child to term & then courageously gave the baby up to adoption - by my wife & I. That baby is our oldest daughter. She was never considered just a fetus or an "un-wanted" pregnancy. She has had her ups & downs in life, but she is beyond thankful that she lives. Millions of couples are waiting for a child. There are no such things as "unwanted" pregnancies. If we were 25 years younger, yes, we would gladly take one of those babies.

By the way...
Not to be rude but, I did say "unborn Child" Milan, not just child. After all, what could be growing inside a woman's womb other than a human being?

I think pro-life has a right to voice their opinion but what they were doing is irrational by instilling fear into people. If they were silent or kept their protest in a decent manner, I dont think I would have been so offended.

Freedom of speech is allowed until one has it imposed upon another, they may say their thoughts whether it is right or wrong. By causing a rukus, they should have been removed.
