Temperament can be inherited. There might be no real reason for this, other than your baby's propensity toward this type of behavior. Patient, consistently loving reinforcement can guide your baby over time. There's no real "quick fix", though.

I read somewhere that babies go through a separation anxiety around this age, so maybe that's what's going on. Just spoke to my girlfriend, who has an 11 month old daughter, & she also had this happen to her... Does your baby behave this way with other people or just with mommy?? My son only does it during the day when he's at home with me... Very frustrating!!!!

To ms. yogahoneybunny,

I don't know how you can say that when you don't know who you're saying it about in the first place. & you're supposed to be a supporter?? Who said anything about a "quick fix"? We're new mommies that came on here for advice not critics from strangers we've never met & whom have never met our children. Try asking questions next time instead. That's what I get for going on these forums in the first place....

My bad, VeeVee.

I meant no offense. I was strictly repeating information I learned in my developmental psychology course. I was not assuming that you were looking to patch the situation. I was simply stating that if temperament is causing fussiness, it might be 6-18 months before the temperament changes.

Again, sorry that my original message was not clear. I see how it could be interpreted as criticism (not my intention). Wink No hard feelings?
