My brother-in-law had 2 weeks of IV daptomycin. Now has c/o muscle pain, esp. proximal and posterior to knee. Had dapto for MRSA abscess below the knee in calf. Have urged him to call his ID doctor to check on this pain. Also had a laproscopic procedure on that knee a few weeks before the MRSA started, although he possibly had a small spot of MRSA just above knee that resolved itself before the scope. No apparant MRSA at this time. How long does the side effects of the Dapto continue, or is this possibly from the 5 day-plus of inactivity? He does not take statins. Should I push him harder about the MD??
