this country THRIVES on the sales taxes from cigarettes.. and if you knew how big of an industry tobacco was you would understand how vital it is that its not banned.

i think all smoking should be regulated.. the chemicals in the cigarettes should be closely monitored and lessened. Make them not so harmful.

as for smoking in restaurants, i find that completely aphalling. Its discusting and no one wants to inhale that nastiness while eating. i dont see how smokers do it.

i just think its a matter of having consideration for other people. In ur own private home u arent making other people deal with ur nasty habit.. out in public u are.

That is exactly my point. We are paving roads with the bodies of dead smokers while people are getting elected with tobacco money. It is sickening.

I completely agree. they add chemicals to cigarettes to make people more addicted so they will keep coming back for more and more and more even when they want to quit. Then they make commercials telling people how hard it is to quit, so people feel more justified in going right on smoking.

I agree with you here as well. Usually smokers wait til theyre done eating before llighting up. But, no I would not go to an eating establishment that allowed smoking. But I still think that there should be places where people can go and have their ciggie after dinner as long as the place clearly states on the fron door that this is a SMOKING ESTABLISHMENT. Then people who don't want to smoke don't have to go there.

Actually in the home, the concentration of second hand smoke is only second to that of in a car. And the people who generally suffer from smoking in the home are children with no rights. It's a very unfortunate situation. Not to mention pets, but that is for another story.

I agree with all your points about how disgusting of a habit it is. I truly do. I smoked for almost fifteen years. I wish I could have that time back. But I think that if someone wants to allow smoking in their joint, then people who don't smoke don't have to go there. That's just how I feel about it.
