Symptoms/testing for Mono or AIDS Posted: 10-03-07 13:34pm
I wanted to post again about my
girlfriend.
As I said before. She started to have a
rash about three months ago.
The rash progressively worsened over
time.
Within a month after she was taking trips
to the ER for it.
She went multiple times with them saying
it was an allergic reaction.
Finally, about two weeks ago. The doctor
told her she had mono.
I am ASSUMING he did a blood test to
diagnose her. I hope so.
Her symptoms have been the rash which
comes and goes pretty much everyday. It
varies from a very mild rash to horrible.
She itches a whole lot from it. She also
has gotten sores in her mouth and around
her lips and at the back of her mouth as
well.
She is also very tired and has gained a
signifigant amount of weight.
I do not know if the weight gain is do to
what is ailing her or not but she gained
about 25 pounds in three months.
She has also had blood when she had bowel
movements.
The doctor's assistant asked her to
describe it and she seems to think it is
from a hemaroid. Her father has them bad..
but she is young.
The reason I am writing again is to ask
with HIV/Aids... does the rash you get
last this long? I know a rash can be a
symptom and so can bleeding from orfases
and sores in the mouth. But all exept for
the bleeding are also symptoms of mono.
I am just worried. She did not get tested
the other day and took my asking her as an
insult. There is nothing I can do about it
but I am going to be tested myself just in
case.
I have been with her for about seven
months and the first time we had sex was
probably after the first month so it will
have been about six months since I first
had sex with her soon.
How long should I wait to make SURE that
if something was wrong it WOULD definatly
show up?
And also what do you make of her
symptoms?
The doctor did say she had mono. But he is
kinda a weird doctor and they did do some
blood tests so see what was wrong with
her... but there's always a chance that
they did'nt specificly test for
mono...maybe I am paranoid .. but I am
also carefull.
Thanks for the advice.

Can you remember of having flu-like
symptoms few days or few weeks (two to
four weeks) after having your first
unprotected sex intercourse?
What kind of rush she has?
Which parts of her body are covered with
rush?
Has she developed nausea and vomiting?
Is she experiencing dry cough?
Does she have severe headaches?
Is she sensitive to light?
