Hey guys, Ive got a unusual situation and im wondering if any of you can help me? Particularly any doctors?

Well, I live in a appartment complex and this old woman just bought home a kitten and its pissing me off because she lets it out in the hall ways and its always doing cat noises and scratching at the carpets and I just hate cats! lol

Well, I have told her that I dont like the cat and I would like her to get rid of it. Ive told her that im allergic to it, (which I think I might be) because I always get hay fever and a itchy noise. She said that if i can get a medical/doctors cert stating that im allergic she will get rid of it.

Well, im wondering if there are any doctors or any one else that has had a medical report stating that they are allergic to cats? Like anyone have any idea what I can put in the report stating that im allergic? Like some technical smart doctors words? lol

Or if theres a doctor thats just willing to write me a short paragraph that they would usually write for someone thats allergic to cats and I will add my name in! that would be rad

Any help will be appreciated!

thanks

First of all, that is very rude of her to expect the other residents to put up with an annoying cat in the hallways. As a responsible pet owner, she should keep her cat inside so that others are not bothered. Some areas have laws against this, I know my state does. There is a leash law here that extends to cats as well. Call the local animal control and ask them what you can legally do so that the cat is not a nuisance to you.

She's got a large pair of coconuts to tell you to get a medical note to get rid of the cat. She doesn't necessarily have to get rid of the cat but she should keep it inside her house. Hope this was helpful.

She's pretty rude for letting her cat run around.

Have you contacted the owner of the complex? Perhaps there's something in the lease that doesn't allow you to let your pets run freely in the hallways.

Yes, you can be allergic to cats. I am..... and can't have cats of my own.

But perhaps you should research your legal rights at a tenant and contact the owner of the complex and complain. If you want to get nasty - contact the SPCA or other animal control association. There's gotta be laws that prevent that.

Im Allergic to Cats Aswell
You can in fact get tested by a Medical Allergy Specialist (Allergist).
This is where I learned I had hay fever, and my allergy to cats, when i was actually trying to see if i was allergic to bee stings. Razz

I don't see a problem with them writing a note to give to your neighbor to let her know you have the allergy, if in fact you do have the allergy.
Look in your local phone book for your nearest allergist.
And if you're not allergic to cats, you might find out something equally important.

Thanks.

Pretty rude of that lady...
Yes you can easily get something that says you are allergic to cats if you are. All you need to do is go in for an allergy test with some allergist, and ask for a paper with the results.
