Melatonin Used Concurrently With Reboxetine
Posted: 10-03-07 07:30am

Greetings All!

I am currently on a course of nor-epinephrine reuptake inhibitors (Reboxetine to be specific) and was wondering whether concurrent use with melatonin and/or 5-HTP supplements would be unwise.

From what I understand the main source of conflict between melatonin/5-HTP and anti-depressants is the cumulative effect on serotonin levels. However I'm uncertain as to whether there exist any other concerns (perhaps centred around nor-epinephrine) or whether NIRs themselves have an effect on serotonin levels somewhere down the line.

Also if anybody with any experience using these supplements has any input I would appreciate it. Do they have any effect or is it just the mighty Holland & Barrett trying to bring about a 'Brave New World' of placebo based capitalism. Wink

TTFN,
Anubeon.

PS: I'll probably bring this up with my doctor at my next appointment but since that may be a while from now I thought I'd canvas the fine and learned users of eHealth.
