Painful Bump Inside Labia?
Posted: 10-03-07 04:42am

I have this painful bump on the inside of my labia.

Theres no abnormal coloring just feels like a bump underneath my skin. It's causing a bit of discomfort..aching and itching, swollen on one side. It's also very dry and burns a bit, then again, I keep trying to check it out and it didnt start burning until examining it.

I've only had sex with one person and that's the same for my boyfriend. I've heard you can get genital herpes other ways though so perhaps that's it? I've got an appointment in about a week but it's really starting to get to me.

Just wondering if anyone had any advice or just anything that might help me out..I guess theres no knowing for sure until I see a doctor but ya know..

Thanks to anyone who can help Question

I don't think it's herpes, it may simply be a cyst. In which case, it will go away on its own.

Yeah it doesnt sound like herpes to me either wait to see the doc...

But to answer your question. Yes you can get herpes other ways than intercourse. And you or your partner do not have to be positive for genital herpes.

If you or your partner has a cold sore on or in your mounth and you give/receive oral then you can contract genital herpes. If you touch your cold sore and immediately touch yourself you can get herpes. This is a very slim chance but its still there. Herpes is transferred by skin to skin contact, not bodily fluids.
