Hi
I see no one has responded, just wanted to say hello and good luck on Friday. My husband has had kidney stones for years, but luckily has passed them on his own. My brother on the other had is a board certified "balsting specialist". HE works with the surgeron with the new instrumentation on blasting kidney stones. I've never heard of having a stint, I gues if you have dealt with kidney stones girlfriend ,you can deal with just about anything. I wish you all the good luck in the world for Friday.Wish I could have been of more help!@

i've had multiple kidney stones over the last five or so years. Ranging from around 2-9mm or so One was done today on a 4.5 stone; I think it went really well, but the drugs are wearing off and I sure am going to the bathroo a ot-plus i can't sem to fall asleep, I'm so realived that it's all over-I was in and out in 4 hours. Iwas realworried before, but i know I'm going to feel so much better in the longrun-I had one stone stuck which caused a raging kdney infecton-had to have the stone removed-- I never felt so sick in my life-I'm glad that my largest stone i had got blasted today!!I still have 2 2 mm stones Goodluck to you-you'll feel so much better-oh and about the stent-I had one in me for seven days after they removed the stone, whne i had ithe infection, and it wasn't so bad -you get used to the feeling

Hi
I have hypocitraturia (just Diagnosed) in the past 5 months I have passed more then 30 stones ranging from 5mm to sand. I have not had any blasted but I have had a removal with a stent put in. I'm sorry to tell you this but for me the stent was far worse then any of the stones. I see that I'm telling you to late so just know the you should feel much better about 1-2 weeks from the day the stent is taken out. As for any advise large amounts of pain killers. Let me know if you have any questions.

stents
Today I underwent emergency surgery to remove a 4-5cm stone. I had them like 15 years ago when i was pregnant with my daughter. I am now 33. I would have to agree the stent I have to keep in for three days them pull it out myself at home this is new to me, before when I have them I was inpatient.I would say you will feel a lot of pressure , similar to the worst UTI you can imagine, I am using a heating pad meds( pyridium is one given to me to numb the urinary tract it will turn your urine orange so don't be alarmed if they give this to you, it helps a lot), drink alot of water, it hurts worse if you get dehydrated, you will urinate frequently, I have to be careful while wiping not to pull the sting that is left outside the body.
I will pray for your speedy and painless recovery..
Take care hope this helps.

Kidney Stone and stent insertion
I had a kidney stone blasted last Wednesday and a stent inserted. I don't want to scare you but I've had a lot of trouble. Extreme pain and urinating every 30 seconds. I was completely bedridden because of needing the bathroom constantly. Have been spending most of my day at work in the bathroom but my employer wants me there. Had an accident in my car on lunch hour because of being to far from bathroom. What I ended up doing is getting a pack of depends and I'm wearing them. The only relief I am getting is to urinate what little comes out. I am having my stent removed next week so I am co-existing with the depends briefs until then.
