I had a hip revision in 2005 because of a loose stem. It is barely two years later and I have a fracture of the proximal mid portion of the left femoral stem. I wonder if anyone with this diagnosis has opted not to have revision surgery again and has not experienced a complete break of the fracture. I cannot find statistics on how many fractures of this kind ultimately result in a total break or how many do not. I know there are many variables involved, but basicly I am not obese and have curtailed any potentially stressful activities, am using a cane and have not had any pain in over a month. Grateful for the benefit of your experiences. Thanks in advance.
