Q: Is It Better to Have Gallbladder Surgery Before Pregnancy

Hello,

i have been diagnosed with gallstones in my gallbladder (i have a little twing, but have not had a major attack, yet). They are big, not huge but big. The surgeon says he can take the gallbladder out laproscopically, and has come reccomended by nurses and other patients.

My question is, I am 38, and I want to get pregnant, and will have to take infertillity drugs. I understand, that it is probably better, to have this kind of surgery, now rather then risking having an attack when I am pregnant. I also was told that some infertility drugs, like clomid might irritate the gallbladder.

I have this scheduled for monday, march 30th. I am also about to start my period, but the surgeon and nurses at the hospital said that should not have an effect on the surgery. Please respond asap.... Rolling Eyes
