I just got an IUD taken out (Monday) and i'm two weeks into my period being over, I got bcp now and i'm wondering if i can take them immediately? I've read some places that you MUST start them the sunday methods and others anytime of the month is fine...should i just start today (well tuesday) or wait until my next period? Question

You do not have to wait until your period.

You can start birth control any day of the week at any time of the month.

Because you are not starting on the first day of your period, you will need to use backup protection for one week.

Sunday start is just so you aren't likely to get your period on the weekend, plus it's easier to remember (and most packs are labeled with Sunday first!) But there's nothing really special about sunday.

It does not matter because the pill will take over your cycle for you, so you will get your period whenever the 'pill' dictates.

Normally you should get your period during the placebo pills.

Your period will adjust accordingly, regardless of when you start.
