Telling Dad that I'm Pregnant (Page 1)

The best way to tell parents is just to be open and honest about it. If your boyfriend is living with you and your dad, he is probably already fairly certain you two are having sex. With sex comes pregnancy. So this can't be a huge shocker to him.

yeah he pretty much knows that my fiance' and I have sex...but I talked to him just a little bit ago and told him I needed to see the doctor...he said alright and understood...I still haven't told him...but when the doctor tells me yes or no...for certain...then I'll talk to him about it. I will more than likely tell him before hand...we're just that way...I can't keep things from him....I'm just still a little jittery about it all...

If you have had a positive home pregnancy test, you are pregnant. But I understand wanting to wait to tell him. I waited to tell my mom for a little while. I was pretty scared and I did't even live with her.

You will be ok. It is nerve wracking but you can do it. It sounds like you are really close with your dad.

Yeah I am. He and I have been through A LOT! My dad is the first person I go to if I need help with a problem (other than the love of my life) and vise versa! I'm his baby girl and we both understand eachother. Whew...OK....well I guess now...the only thing to do now is just...tell him. He wants my fiance' to get his license first and get a job. He has to change jobs and also get his license renewed and such because he just moved here from another state...so....yeah...he just wants to make sure I have a good man to support me. Which I totally understand. I just wish I didn't have to tell him before I was married. It would be SO much easier to tell him after he and I got married. I wouldn't feel so guilty about it. But I'm happy none the less and so is he. I'm sure my dad will understand...it's just a matter of telling him...and letting him cool off afterwards.

i was pregnant at the age of 13. And i have no parents as they both were in a car crash when i were in playgroup.My brouther who i call dad was the one that i told about my pregnancy.
He was really angry with me and my partner who i am still with and have been with from the age of 8.I am know 10 weeks pregnant with my second baby.
I sat my brouther down and let my feelings out. Afterwards he walked out but he came back 3 days later and wanted to be a part of the babys life.
What i am trying to say is it is better to tell your dad know more then later.He will feel angry but he should cool off the whole situation.Afterall u are getting mrried to the babys father.

how old are you? if your over 18 although he may be concerned for you he cant be too mad

I'm 16...so...no...I'm not 18 YET...haha..still got a couple more years to go. I went on my gut instinct and told my dad last night. I told him everything and he just kind of sighed and patted my leg. He said, "I can't yell at you because then I'd have to yell at myself because I allowed you and your fiance' to sleep in the same bed and I allowed him to live with us..." He wasn't angry...He said he's going to take care of me...I know he's scared...just as I am...and I'm so happy that he didn't yell...I'm already stressed enough. Sexxybexxy I am so sorry about your parents! But that's awesome that your brother has been supportive and taken care of you guys! And congratulations!!!!!!! !!...My fiance' and I were best friends for about a year and then started dating...we've been together for almost two years...so not quite as long...not neearly as long. But we are very much in love and happy as can be! Life is wonderful! thank you ladies for all your help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is very much apprieciated! I will keep you all updated!!!

Yeah...he already knows...we have been planning on getting married even before I got pregnant...I'm so grateful and blessed to have him in my life! I've already explained most of it in the other posts above. But anyway...thank you!!! your baby is so cuuute!!!

I'm happy that your dad didn't spaz out at you! Mine would have asked ,'Is it that stupild albino kid you've been with all along?' So what! He's albino... another color of the rainbow!!!

thank you! so am I...last night was pretty stressful though..and so was today...two guys at my school were in a car accident...one of the guys I knew...Ryan.....but I didn't know Tyler...Tyler was the other guy...Tyler didn't make it...Ryan is in critical condition. Ryan was seeing how fast his convertable would go (they had the top down too) and Tyler was in the car with him....and well...I won't go into details...but yeah....everyone is taking it pretty hard...on top of that we had a peprally and tonight is homecoming...so yeah....wonderful....=/ xD

that would suck.. my friend was in sask a couple months ago and on his way home someone beat the living snot out of him and broke his neck.. then last month an kid i went to middle school was in a car accident and died when he arrived at hospital.. sad huh
