Q: Am I Pregnant?

I'm 18, a virgin, and very inexperienced. My boyfriend and I have been intimate before, but it's never involved penetration of my vagina. Sometimes he rubs his penis on my vagina but he doesn't put it in and always ejaculates away from it. Well last night we got a little intimate and he ended up putting the head of his penis inside my vagina. He kept it there for a few minutes, but didn't go any deeper and pulled it out before ejaculation. So what I'm wondering is what my chances of being pregnant are? I read that some of his pre-cum could have gotten in my vagina. I'm a freshman in college and I'm really terrified of getting pregnant right now; of course we love each other and I'm sure he'll support me, but I'm really not ready to have children yet. Can you help me out?

well you are right. there is a very small chance that his pre-ejaculation could have gone in you. However everything else would have to be right for you to get pregnant, (ovulating, enough sperm, the egg in the right spot at the right time ) anyways the answer is yes.. but very unlikley.

you say you dont want to be pregnant, and have kids. You need to be using protection of some kind, condoms, or the pill, or something. even if you arent having sex. It sounds like to me you are getting close enough you need to be protected so you dont have to worry. Also you need to think about stds as well.

Thanks for your help. You're right, we are at the point where we both want to have intercourse. I talked to my boyfriend about birth control, and we agreed that it'd be best for me to start the pill. He has trouble with condoms because he says it makes him lose his erection, and I would rather keep things as natural and enjoyable as possible. Until then we agreed not to penetrate my vagina. If I start the pill this weekend, when can we actually have sex? How long does it take to kick in?

Have him wear condoms. He obviously has slept with other women and things can get *passed* around unintentionally.

He's only had sex with one other person, and he got tested afterwards and it came up clean. He's very honest about his sexual history and would have told me if there was anything to worry about. Right now the only thing I'm worried about him *passing* to me is his sperm...

There is no test for HPV in men. The high risk forms of HPV are the leading cause of cervical cancer in women. He can have this and not know.

Was he also tested specifically for AIDS?

Herpes is unable to be detected unless the person is having a break out at the time of the appointment.

How many people has the woman he slept with been with? Because that is the true number of how many people he has come in contact with, whether or not he actually slept with them or not.

Men have a million excuses not to wear condoms. Trust me. They ALL say it doesn't feel good. And, you know what? It doesn't feel as good for women either! But I'd rather be safe than live with genital warts the rest of my life or sporatic break outs of weepy, burning lesions from herpes.

The clinic you get your birth control pills from will tell you how long it will be before your pills start working. Anywhere between one week and one month.

Good luck!

I think I can trust him but thanks for your warnings. Do any of you have something to say about my original question, i.e. how long does it take for the pills to start taking effect?

At least keep it in mind for the future. You'll get more than your fair share of guys saying the condom thing. It is quite common.

Why do you think posters don't like me, Suzy? Is it because I'm honest?

Hmmmmm....you can fake your body into being perma-pregnant, use an IUD, or make him WRAP IT UP. Dont buy the "its doesnt feel as good" crap and dont do anything that may effect you later.

Research how women keep track of when they ovulate. There are ways to know when you are most likely to get pregnant. You can keep a journal and all it takes is small things like taking waking temperature to know when you are most fertile, its really easy and in addition to a condom can make you even more confident that you wont get preggers. Wrap it up and avoid sex during that time of the month to be even more sure.

My GF took BC for the 4 years when we were together and I cant believe after reading more about it, that I chose that over a condom and responsible sexual activity.

PS - The small amount of fluid before ejaculation that is supposed to flush out urine, may contain small amounts of sperm.

I only speak the truth. I guess some people don't like to hear that.

LOL, yeah funny huh.

Ive had a lot of experience with BC and one unwanted pregnancy. Men should be more focused on protecting the most beautiful thing in this world and less concerned with an eight inch piece of latex.
