Hi!
Are you experiencing swollen and painful gland from time to time or you have this gland swollen constantly for a year? Is the skin over the gland red or swollen? Are you experiencing fatigue, fevers, chills, or sweats?
Have you noticed that the gland swelling is caused by certain foods and if it's getting swollen right after meal?
I guess you have obstruction of your gland's duct ( the gland is trying to expel its saliva and the result is swollen, tender gland.
There are few reasons for gland's obstruction. Salts in saliva can precipitate in the salivary glands and form small stones that are causing stopping the flow of saliva. The main duct can be narrowed due to previous infections and trauma. Infection or other inflammation of the gland itself are causing extrinsic pressure on the duct and in very rare cases an extrinsic pressure can be due to tumor formed near the duct.
Waiting for your post!
Best wishes!
