I am a 39 year old male.

I have had a click in my neck for 3 weeks. It is slightly painful.

It clicks 1 time when I turn my head from left to right.

I would love some advice!

Thank you in advance!

Without an X-ray, MRI, etc… it’s obviously impossible for anybody to determine what could be causing the click in your neck, as such I would encourage you to seek medical attention for this problem.

With that being said, there could be several reasons why necks become “noisy” the most common causes are arthritis and vertebra misalignment.

Best Wishes,
Tyton

Best treatment according to many university studies is vertebral manipulative treatment. Try that.

Click In My Neck Is Driving Me Crazy!!
Hi there

Clicks in the neck are caused by the rotary muscles (rotatores longus and brevis) of the cervical spine becoming overtight These small musles have their insert at the spinous process, and the origin on the transverse process of the vertebra below. On rotation one side is activated to contract and the other side to extend. This is called antagonistic interaction. If on or two of those muscles are not getting the right signal it does not extend and causes a click.
I hope this makes sense.
Massage points between the 2nd and 3rd rib, next to the sternum (breastbone) will reset these muscles.
Get your friend or partner to apply deep pressure on the muscles at the base of the neck, about 40 milimeters lateral of the spine will be painfull but beneficial.

Good luck

Kinetico
