Hi Again Worry
My answer would have be yes. I would for sure see a pyscologist or your PCP to ask about your symtoms. Sounds like you got yourself some really intense inner problems coping. Join the crowd. I feel for ya. Ther is help out there, now go and find it. Do it for yourself and get better. You deserve it.

((((More Hugs to ya)))))

I would try and find a therapist who uses cognitive training. You have to work at it but I think cognitive training is what you really need. Try and join a group or read the book by sam obitz which is generally easy to read and identify with and teaches you the right and wrong way to use a tea form. I learned the tea form exercise in my group and it has become a staple in my life that helps me keep my anxiety at a minimum and I have not had a panic attack ever since and I was having them almost everyday when I joined my group. Once you learn to counter your thoughts in the tea form you will begin to make a lot of progress faster than you thought possible.

I'm going through the same thing, I don't know if its anxiety though, although I have had a history of anxiety-related problems. I don't feel as smart as I used to be either, kind of weird.

Going Into Depresson?
Sounds like you may be actually having a bit of depression here. Do you sleep alot? How do you interact with your friends and do you have any? Do you go out at all or are you happy just to stay at home most of the time? These are all signs of depression. Low self esteem is just another one of those signs.
You need to pick yourself up, brush yourself off, and get throught this. By making yourself do the things you really don't want to do. Like go out for a walk instead of staying in bed or at home. Call a friend and see if they want to do anything. It is a hurdle that only you can get over. And once you get over it, you will find there is some fun out there and others well treat you as equal. I know this is hard to say. But most of us look for this majic pill to help us get through everything. Or for someone else to say "I have the answer to all your problems". I for one, wish it were that way. But, truth is, it take us first to grasp our live's and turn it around and not depend so much on pills ( although most of us still need them ) to change everything for us.

I totally agree. Once we realize pills alone will only take us so far and you learn to deal with things more constructively through things like cbt and other coping techniques will you find the relief you want to achieve.

Deppression has a whole different set of symptoms then anxiety. although one may have both. If you find your sleeping to much when you are home or your not interested in much anymore. Or you have really no need for social life at all. Those all point to deppression. I for one know what it feels like and it is horrid. I take one Lexepro in the morning and she upped me to one at night now and I still really (other then this board) am a pretty unsociable gal. As a kid I only had one best friend for 14 years and then a a teen I still only had one real friend. Now as an older adult, I could care less about friends and going out. All the things I use to enjoy are gone. I guess that is why I picked the medical and mental health field because it is so rewarding to help someone else with things you have been so close to yourself. I don't have all the answers but, I feel this way, if I can help in anyway for someone not to have to go through all that I have, then I am worth something. Self esteem is probably the worst things to lack. Not having the faith and security in one's self is terrible. What kind of life we are living not caring about what we look like or what people think of us eh?
Take it from someone who has been there and still is. Please don't let that happen to you. Force yourself if you have to while you are young and still have a chance to beat this beast.

Hugs,
Carrie

yeah dont worry bout it, if you gotta its perfectly fine to ask sum1 else to help you with it, im here if ya need, try to get a sense of humor...i got one! i walk into the store everyday with my hair a mess and in pain, and i pull it off! and ppl love me cause i dont care what ppl think...im the biggest dork thanks to my fibro...its a gift really!

anxiety is normal with it too, warm showers helps me...i get that "i cant breathe feeling" or wierd throat feelings...showers and cool climates help, stick your head in the fridge or take a shower....if u get an attack or ask to be with sum1, get a back rub, anything!!! play a video game! (just dont get addicted)

Depression can pull you down faster then a rollar coaster. It can cause your life to be a miserable mess if not taken care of. When someone is depressed, issues come out from within that could cause so many different things to go through your mind. I have been through some bad one's where I have been ready to move into a homeless shelter or just get into my car and put it on auto pilot and let it take me anywhere, even over the side of a bridge. Please don't let this happen to you. Depression brings out a part of us that is stuck inside and can't get out. Just sometimes, we can't let it out on our own.

Worry Is the First Step to Recovery
when you care about yourself enough to worry about your depression your that much closer to getting better. i've been anxious and depressed for a couple years, it goes in spells and i do find with me that it is controlled by what i eat. i know its hard to believe that your mind may be affected by food but by my experience and research its true and hey it can't hurt. i have been on paxil and it does help with the fear in social situations and memory but its also scary, you know its too good to be true i felt deep down i was not addressing the real issue of why its happening in the first place. i agree with mscarrie you have to fight it force yourself to do things you don't want to do. ignore the stomach pains the tiredness walk in to the world with open arms and try alittle harder. i'll try to take my own advice as well for now being a single mom i've isolated myself again. i have such an amazing time with my one year old i dont feel depressed at all. but when i really think about it i live in this safe little bubble. we stay in and play we have an incredible organic diet (which does help with my mood) if i feel tired i nap with her. this is not much of a life. i try to go to play groups but its just odd i feel such a flutter inside of me and when i dont know what to say i over compensate by saying to much things that dont even represent who i am or how i am as a mom its just nerves. its weid because its not like i care for these other people do i find them interesting, not really i dont even know them. i guess while blabbering on im saying i need help to and maybe its good for you to hear other people spill there guts. i know it helps me. it gets me outside of myself.
