Q: Two Lymph Nodes Swelling On Right Side Of My Neck

I have a lymph node on the right side of my neck 3/4 way down that is pea-sized and does not really move and is attached to some sort of tissue for approximately 8 months and then I have a football-shaped lymph node on the right side in the supraclavicular region (about 1 inch above collar bone.) That one I noticed about 2 days ago. Neither are really painful, except when messed with too much. Have lots of cancer history in my family. My mother died at 42 of cancer. She had Hodgkin's then breast and lung cancer. My aunt had breast cancer. My grandfather has lung cancer. Any advice or information for me?

Hi!
Swollen lymph nodes in neck can be due to injury near the gland or when a tumor or infection occurs in the mouth, head, or neck. An infection or tumor in the areas of the lungs, breasts, neck, or abdomen will cause enlarged lymph nodes below the collarbone.
I don't wanna sound negative, but I must note that swollen but painless lymph nodes that are occurring in the neck(upper part of the body) are the most common sign of Hodgkin's lymphoma. Are you having some other symptoms?
Do you have a low-grade fever? Are you experiencing night sweats? Do you think you've lost weight purposelessly? Do you have constant fatigue? Do you find your skin terrible itchy?

Best wishes!

2 Lymph Nodes Swelling
Some other symptoms that I am having are a cough for about a year or 2 that won't go away that is productive - I am a smoker of 15 years. I have been tired a lot recently, but I have an 11-month-old girl, so I thought that was the reason. I had been having some night sweats, but I thought that it was because my house was getting too hot in the middle of the night. I got a chest x-ray the other day and still awaiting the results.

Hi!
If Hodgkin's lymphoma affects the lymph nodes in the chest or the lungs (the peribronchial lymph nodes and the bronchial walls and the bronchial mucosa), coughing and breathlessness can occur.
Do you have bleeding problems, such as heavy periods, nosebleeds or skin rush of small red dots? Are you experiencing pain in some parts of your body or swelling in your arms or legs? Did you suffer from some infections recently?
Please, keep me up date about your chest x-ray results!
All best to you!
Marija
