look at it this way..
would your mom be more disappointed in you
being responsible and getting put on birth control
or getting pregnant b/c you were too scared to
get on birth control?...

your parents don't even have to know..
or you could just tell her you want to regulate
your periods....

Won't your mom find out about the blood test you just took?

Planned Parenthood is a clinic that will NOT tell your mom. You can get birth control for FREE. Plus a yearly pap smear (which you need if you are sexually active anyway) and a general well-woman check up.

So, if you can get a blood test without anyone knowing, then why would anyone have to know if you got birth control? I'm saying you're the one who wasn't making sense Very Happy

Planned Parenthood is completely anonymous. Your records with them are accessible ONLY by you and no one else. You just need to make sure to tell them this so that they don't send letters to your house with test results or things like that, with "From Planned Parenthood" plastered all over the envelope lol.

a lot of teenagers make the mistake of NOT telling their parents
that they are having sex...
i didn't tell my mom until 2 yrs. after i started having sex
and that was a mistake
those 2 yrs. i took the chance of getting pregnant..

i look at it this way
would you rather tell your mom you're having sex and would
like to be responsible and get on birth control so you don't bring
another life into this world that you are not ready to raise..

or wait...
stay sexually active
without birth control and without telling your parents
and then having to tell them that you are pregnant
and putting the burden on them of how they are going
to help you raise a child at a young age???

ETA= like the other posters said.. if you are sexually active you NEED to get a pap smear... to make sure you don't have any thing wrong in there...

well i told my mom when i started haveing sex

because guess what? you could have an std
you need a pap test done yearly and you need to be seen by a gyno
and you need birth control...even if you are using condoms there are girls on here who have gotten preg from using a condom

dont take the chance

sex is more serious then just pregnancy
you could get a disease and it could make you really sick or even kill you

um im not gonna go up to my mom and be like guess wat mom? im having sex?
i think its my sex life and she does not need to be part of it
im sorry but thats the stupidest thing ive heard
first of all she would kill and not get me birth control and secondly she does not need to know anything about it.period.
millions of teens are having sex with condoms and most of them dont get pregnant
the only way to get pregnant from sex with a condom if it breaks and if ur bf is a completely fool and cums in u
telling my mom about me having sex is not for me , if u told ur mom about it then thats great good for u

Well, my mom told ME I was having sex. HAHA. I was. But how did she know? She drove me to planned parenthood and dropped me off, she said, "You have an appointment for birth control pills, I'll be across the road having coffee."

Can you tell she didn't really want grandbabies? Smile

Just because she knows, doesn't mean she is 'part' of your sex life. I mean, she obviously has the idea that you are. Besides, you know she has sex and that isn't stopping her.

Be healthy. Be proactive. Whatever you do, take care of yourself. Smile

I am not one that thinks you have to tell her. But I know when my mom and I had an understanding about *my* sex life, things were a lot easier between us.

You can still go to planned parenthood and discuss your birth control options. Planned parenthood would be free for you and they never discuss anything with parents. Nor does going to planned parenthood mean you would be on the pill. They also have condoms! And you need a pap smear now that you are sexually active anyway.

Good luck!

Because they love you and care about you, that's why. I told my parents I was having sex. I wasn't a teen, but still. It's important to do!

Why do you think parents get upset when they learn a teen is having sex? Because more often than not... you're too young to be having sex. I'm not saying you are, I'm just saying that's how most parents feel.

However if you present it to them in a mature fashion and show how responsible you want to be about this with getting on birth control, then they will respect you back.
