One final time... so listen, ok?

You have had 6 negative home pregnancy tests. And one negative blood test.

Brown blood is indicative of OLD BLOOD. Not pregnancy. Not suprise pregnancy that was not detected on pregnancy tests. Not super secret pregnancy.

This, right here, is why you are late on your period. You are too stressed out. RELAX. Breathe. You are not pregnant. Let it go.

but why would it br brown?

Because sometimes that happens. O.o

My periods range in color from brown to red to blackish. Chunky, bloody, or slimy. It's all normal.

Look, I don't think you're pregnant. Relax, calm down. You can't do anything for a full week right now: that's how far apart you should use tests to detect an increase of HCG... not 6 in one week Razz Waste of money.

Actually store-bought urine tests are more sensitive that blood tests. Blood tests are normally done when a woman is quite along (more than 4 weeks) so they don't have to be as sensitive. Early-result pregnancy tests for urine are much more sensitive.

info on blood test and hpts

a BLOOD test is more acurate but a hpt is more sensitive
however a bloodtest will give you the right answer (yes or no)

Q: Which is more accurate, a urine test or a blood test?

A: A blood test is more accurate, but not necessarily more sensitive. A lot depends on the lab. A quantitative blood test, usually called a beta hCG test, measures the exact units of hCG in the blood. That means it will detect even the most minimal level. There is another type of blood test sometimes called a qualitative hCG. This is a test that simply gives a yes or no answer to whether you are pregnant. Just like urine tests, labs vary as to what is considered a positive pregnancy test. Common cutoffs for positive are 5, 10, and 25 units. A level under 5 is considered negative. A test that is only triggered at 25 units of hCG is not any more sensitive than several of the urine HPTs.

Guys:

The word Accurate and the word Sensitive do not mean the same thing!!!! That's why I was very specific to say "sensitive".

A urine test will detect smaller amounts of HCG so it can detect pregnancy SOONER than a blood test. That's what most women want to know: Yes or No.

A blood test can tell you how much HCG is in the blood but only if it is a quantitative blood test, and not all of them are. Some blood tests are just like urine tests, and can only say yes or no.

Plus, I knew all of this without needing to look at your second post, yet we say the same thing.

Even the info you posted reveals in the last sentence the truth:
Common blood tests are no more sensitive than common urine tests, and that's only if it's a qualitative blood test.
