Q: Chantix - Quit Smoking It's Easy!!

I started smoking when I was 12 years of age. I'm not going to divulge why, but I'm 25 now and I've been smoke free for 3 months now. I've tried to quit before and nothing would work. I heard about Chantix and that people that had smoked 3 packs a day and had been smoking for 30 years quit cold turkey. Sounded pretty amazing so I got my doc to prescribe me some. I've never seen anything or heard anything as good as this drug has done. I quit cold turkey without even thinking twice about it...not one single withdrawal. If you wanna quit, and are serious about it....check it out!!

Just do it
Yes, I have got to say, Chantix is working for me, but I didn't just throw the cigs away. I've been taking the pill for three weeks and do not really want a weed, but the old habit is hard to break.
I only smoke one or two a day and am trying to quit completely, but you are right. I believe Chantix is the answer. I have heard a lot of people who have quit smoking by going on the program and that is great.

Chantix and Suboxone
Does anyone have any experience with starting Chantix while on Suboxone?
A Pharmacist has told me it is OK to mix the two, but i am curious to hear from someone who actually has. Anyone???

I am in day 10 of Chantix and still smoking
Hi Everyone.
I guess it has been so long since I attempted to quit that I forgot how. My habits of sitting by the fireplace and blowing smoke up the chimney is just too hard to resist. The taste in my mouth is horrible but yet I continue to smoke. I talked to the pharmacist and she said it took her a few weeks of chantix to really quit for good. I hope she is right! Am I the only one this has happened to?

I quit
I quit using Chantix, and I was a three pack a day smoker for 27 years. It does work.

Chantix works great
I quit using Chantix a little over 3 months ago. In my case I only took the Chantix for 1 month. After that 1st month I did not feel like I needed it any more and just went cold turkey from there on. I haven't looked back and have NEVER experienced any withdrawal symtoms of any kind from stopping smoking. It actually seemed easy for me to give the cigarettes up after smoking 2 packs a day for 25 years. I still find it hard to believe I quit smoking. Now I am exercising, eating better, and having more energy then I can ever remember having in the past. I smoked since I was 15 years old so it really was time to give them up before my health got even worse then it was already getting.

One day at a time
I am on Chantix as well. My quit date was March 28. I relapsed twice early on. I am now on my 4th week straight without a smoke. Taking it one day at a time. I hope and pray I can make it through. I NEVER want to have to smoke again!

I was going to try Chantix, but I got something else going on, not sure what, doc's can't seem to tell me why I feel so sick.
I smoked for 9 years, but with what ever is going on with me, the cigs were making me feel worse, so I started cutting back from a pack a day to half a pack a day, then it was 4 to 5 a day, then after the last visit to the ER, I said NO MORE, so far, I have 30 days under my belt. My smell has really come back, I can smell people in cars in front of me who are smoking, the other day, I could smell some one smoking weed, 3 cars ahead. I still get cravings, but I just got to preoccupie myself and stay busy, and it gets easier.
One good tip, you may get hungry, but just fight it, your body will adjust to releasing it's blood sugars instead of depending on the nicotine, eat a small candy bar if you need to, but only evey couple hours

I was on Chantix for about a month. My quit date was 8/3 but I smoked a few cigarettes until 8/10. Got off Chantix Labor Day weekend and have been smoke free since 8/10. Was worried going off the drug would bring back the urge to smoke but it didn't. Well, I had/still have urges to smoke but I haven't given in. It's a good drug, gave me quite the stomach ache but talk about taking away the urge to smoke! Glad I took the medication and I still have my 2nd prescription just in case. I will take Chantix again if I have to but quitting is really, really hard so I hope I won't have to do this again and go through the withdrawals. Whew, hard stuff to go through. Am hoping I am done with the withdrawals. Don't really know how long they last! Guess it's different for everyone. Good luck All!
