When to Remove My Mirena Coil to Ttc Posted: 09-27-07 09:52am
i am looking to start ttc in january and
wondered when i should remove my mirena

before then as my son starts nursery in
jan and i want to make sure he is settled
before ttc.
when did you all start taking pre natals
before you actually started trying? should
i take them now or wait? i don't know
whether to while i still have the coil
in.

Is the coil hormonal? Were your cycles
regular before the coil?
As for the vitamins. It is 'ideal' to
start taking them 3 months before you
start ttc. So, 'idealy' you would start
taking them some time next month.

Yeah, I thought that might be a problem.
lol.
Some doctors recomend discontinuing
hormonal birth control 3 months prior to
ttc, in order to give your body time to
adjust. But, if you don't think it will be
a problem, you could wait until January.
That way if you did get pregnant right
away, it wouldn't be a problem. It's all
up to how you think your body will handle
everything.
take the vitamin as soon as you are
thinking of getting pregnant after taking
the merina out it can take up to a year to
get pregnant but some sooner. Make sure
you take folic acid it is best to be on it
before you get pregnant. i was the merina
and was told this by my doctor who is an
ob/gyn so this is his speciality.
good luck

the vitamins will not hurt you if you take
them now but you may want to take a
vitamin like women's one a day it has b6
b12 and folic acid .4mg which is what they
recomend but you can get extra folic acid
from your foods or you can by it over the
counter in 1 mg 4 mg tablets.
talk you pharmist and see what they
recommend
