Q: Progesterone Side Effects

My husband and I did IUI 5 days ago. Now, it's the long and suspenseful two week waiting period before we find out if the IUI worked. The doctor put me on progesterone suppositories beginning Monday. I've read that side effects are much like pregnancy symptoms. Every day that goes by, my breast become more and more sore. Today, my breasts are entirely sore. And my nipples hurt to "the touch". I'm also very sleepy all the time.

I'm constantly reminding myself not to become hopeful and that the symptoms are probably from the progesterone.

I was wondering, do a lot of women have pregnancy symptoms from progesterone? Or is it okay for me to "dream" a little about being pregnant? Very Happy

i think i'm having side effects
I have been on progesterone since the summer of 2006. I started with the creme until I found out my right dosage. I was put on a higher dosage for a while, but then all of my PMS symptoms returned. I had irritability, trouble concentrating, not predictable cycles, cramps etc so we just recently adjusted my dosage back down the 15 m troche. I take it days 1-14 of my cycle but the last two months have been crazy. My period in january was 9 days of heavy bright red bleeding and this month my fiance left for the airforce and my dog died in january so i've been very stressed/emotional. I'm sure that has a big play into this. However my pms symptoms started a week late this month and my "period" is more like spotting and came ten days late. I'm not trying to get pregnant or anything. To let ya'll know. But my doctor had also told me that i needed to gain some weight back since i was only 106 lbs and 5'5" so I had made myself eat a lot more and i'm now 112 lbs so I don't know if just everything has screwed with my cycle or what. I got my normal breast tenderness from my fibrocystic breasts, my normal feeling that my period was coming, my normal need to clean everything feeling haha but all i got was spotting and diahrea stuff similar to what i experienced before i got on the progesterone. So is this just my hormones going crazy or is it something I'm doing? My next appointment isn't for a few weeks so I just want to make sure I shouldn't freak out that things like this can happen. Thanks!
