Sleeping Beauty

Her first big smile caught on camera

My, my. What cute little feetsies!!!

Oh my. Not another picture.

My baby girl will be 6 weeks old on Saturday. I can't believe how fast time flies and quickly my maternity leave is running out.
I do have one quick question for all of you moms out there. My daughter fights her sleep horribly. It sometimes takes 2 hours to get her to go to sleep. She will fall asleep while drinking her bottle, but the minute you lay her down in her crib, her eyes pop open. We have tried laying her down when she is really drowsy, so she can learn to fall asleep on her own, but she is content for about 5 minutes and then starts crying. Any suggestions on how to get her to stop fighting her sleep so bad? Other than that, she is doing just great!

I would def try to put her on her tummy!! Oni NEVER slept on her back/side. Ever.

I've read that they get the sense that they're falling and spaz out instead of falling asleep!

Just make sure all the padding is removed from the bed and there's no need for covers. Just a thicker body suit for the winter!!

SHe is absolutely gorgeous!! I can't believe she's here!!!

have you tried swaddling? we swaddled finn until he outgrew his swaddling blankets (or maybe it got too hot, i don't remember), then we started putting him on his tummy around 4 months. it's hard to go from being swaddled and cozy to being loose and free, that's why we started putting him on his tummy.

Thank you. I can't believe she is here either. It seems like just a few days ago I found out I was pregnant. Now she's 6 weeks old!!!! Before we know, we will be sending her off to college. Sad

She has been sleeping on her tummy since she was about 2 weeks old. That's the only way that we could get her to sleep for longer than 30 minutes at a time. She is getting better though. Last night, she slept 7 hours before getting up!!! I got up to check on her probably a million times!! I hope she starts sleeping like that all the time, I have to go back to work next week.

She absolutely HATES being swaddled. That last for about 2 weeks after we brought her home from the hospital. She doesn't like being tied down...gets that from her momma. She's doing better though, so maybe it was just a quick phase that she went through. Thanks for the tip though.
