Q: Fused Vagina

Im not sure if thats what it is called, but jordynne had her 9 mth checkup today she is 18lbs and i think about 28 inches tall. The dr said that her vagina isnt opened like its supposed to be, he had asked if he gave me cream before wich he never has, so he gave me estrogen cream to put on it daily until it opens up. This is the first ive actually ever heard about it aside from stories of putting stuff on it from birth to keep it from closing, hers is not closed all the way obviously. But is this a really common thing or what? Hopefully the cream helps and she is normal. I waslookin online at some sites that say if not usualyl at puberty it fixes itself but would it cause any problems of any sort ?

yeah, it kinda sucks, my childs not normal. But oh well what can you do, hopefully this cream works for her and she has no other problems, i wasl ooking up info and the estrogen cream can cause breast tissue growth and also vaginal bleeding when u stop the treatment. So joy this is just sooooooo strange to me.

i've heard of this but really know nothing about it. so if this cream doesn't work, then it'll fix itself eventually? it sounds a little scary, but i'm sure it's not really a big deal.

becky, the doctor doesn't check the kids down below? finn's doctor takes his diaper off at every appointment and makes sure things look normal down there. i thought this was normal, otherwise how would they know if there's a problem (such as what jordynne has)?

I've heard of this. But have never experienced it with Oni.

Try not to Google things like this. The findings are normally intense and can scare the BEJesus out of you!! LOL!

Hopefully by her next appt it'll be opened!

fused vagina
My baby girl is five years old and still it is not completele open and the cream does not help. It just causes the skin around it to become discolored and her pubic hair is showing too soon and starting to darken. no one seems to have any answers and I have been to three pediatricians since her birth and i have been told not to worry that it should completely open by the time she hits puberty. But dont we go through enough when we hit puberty why cant she just have an operation or something to make it normal(Ihave actually said this to a doctor) This occurrs in 1 out of 10 baby girls and is normal and all girls are normal and healthy none of the doctors will humor me and do an ultrosound t make sure all of her female anotomy is normal on the inside.

fused vagina
My daughter is 19 months old and has a partially fused vagina. Its been like that since birth I assume but we didnt see it till she was 15 months old. We did the cream and it did open it a little but she is scheduled for surgery one July 13th. to have it opened up the rest of the way. and then I'll just use KY on her every day for 2 or 3 months so it wont fuse back shut. Its uncomfortable for her sometime to walk or to have her legs spred to far like if shes on my hip. So this is why we are doing the surgery because its painful for her.

poor babies. I'm sorry I don't have anything useful to add, I just want to say I hope everything works out and the surgery goes well so she doesn't have to be uncomfortable anymore. Best of luck!
