I think all bipolar is genetic. I heard voices for a short term the last time I went psychotic in September and December of last year.

Not all people do though. I haven't heard any since I've been on medication so there is treatment for it.

i know... when my father was off meds he was crazy, and when he was on them he was a zombie. no happy medium. i don't want to become that.

I haven't been a zombie on medication...although my moods still shift just more moderatly not the extreme highs and lows and nothing psychotic. I wouldn't worry about it unless you start to experience those symptoms than I would check yourself into a hospital where they can get the right medication. That is what I did and while my life isn't great its better than it was when I was off the medication.
