I think this may be what Im suffering from!! Im in absolute agony and have a doctors appointment for next Thursday ( earlist one!) I cant bend, walk properly and sitting is basically out of the question! ( my feet are killing me!!) Mine is about the size of a golf ball. I noticed it first last year when it was probably pea sized but only hurt when I lay in the bath so just put it down to a bone or something but now it is huge and Im in agony!! No hole or leakage though, just a big lump that you can see without touching and its a bit red in that area, I cant touch it as its just too painful! Even sitting on the toilet I have to push my butt cheeks together at the top to make it a bit more bearable!! Not happy Just one Q though, Those of you who had to have surgery / it cleaned out, did you need time off work?? If so how much?? I have a very demanding job and will find this difficult!

I had the pilonidal cyst on the very top of my crack. It was very red, swollen and hurt like nothing I had ever had before. About the size of a quarter. I let it go for sometime because it was embarassing. I finally went to the doctor and he cleaned it out in his office and stiched me up. All was good. Until, the cyst came back. Much much larger and even more infected. I had to have surgery to get the whole area cleaned out. It hurt so aful bad. I'm just glad that that stupid cyst is gone

Yeah i think thats what im going thru about a year ago..i fell with i was 9 months pregnant flat on my back and like a week later had to go into a emergency c-section cuz i couldnt sit walk lay down all i could was crawl...So the doctor went in and drained it and it went away for awhile but now here it is again just about a year later and its already startin to grow and i cant sit or walk and its really painful..but have a doctors appt in the morning but kinda scared of whats going to happen

I have a lump right around my tailbone and it hurts REALLY bad, I don't know what it is or what to do about it. I've had one before, about 3 months ago, It wouldn't drain if I tried, but after a while it did it on it's own. Now, there is another one and I don't know what to do?!?! Please help.

Yes my little brother had this happen to him over the summer and he was only allowed to lay on his stomach after his surgery so not to disrupt the healing process....and my parents had to help pack the hole with gauze every night, I think sometimes 2 times a day. (He was also put on Vicodin after his surgery)
It was extrememly painful for him I felt so bad! I never was allowed to look at it (he is 13 haha) but I know this is exactly what he had. Watch out, if not properly treated, they can come back at least every year....get it looked at and treated right away!!
