Hello,
I broke my clavicle three days ago. The doctor at the ER said that a surgery is definitely an option but not a medical necessity. He kept this vague line as he explained some more details but he wouldn't give a buttom line suggestion.
I read everything I could find online about this kind of injury and the potential operation but i'm still at a loss.
I would very much appriciate any advice or opinion regarding my situation.
Here are my x-rays:

I should also mention that there's a very notable bulge where the bone pushes outwards.
And that i'm in pain... Smile

Thank you very much in advance!
J.

Hi, I am a Physical Therapist and my husband sustained the same injury as you did. Since it was a month ago, you should be feeling better by now. I would recommend that you get Physical Therapy for proper healing. My husband actually didn't and now he wishes that he did. He says that his shoulder is not really in "pain" but it "doesnt feel right, not like the other". You will heal, and the pain does go away. You MUST keep your arm immobile....DONT MOVE IT. The more you move it, the longer the healng process....it's like oicking a scab. Good luck.
