HI sweetie, I have no idea what woodlands
is. I do REMEMBER you are in TEXAS....a
long way from me. I totally understand
about being away from your Mom. My Mother
lives almost 4 hours away and has since I
was 15. My paretns divorced when I was
little. If you and Travis were married, I
would have to be honest and say....if he
had a really good job in woodlands, and a
nice place for you and Miss Kristen to
stay, then you might want to go with your
husband to keep your family together. But
since you both are so young and not
married, its understandable you want to
say close to where your Mom and Dad are.
Family is so important to me too.
But.........If Travis is wanting to move
jsut ot be wiht his friends........he has
a lot of growing up to do and I would want
you to stay close to your family so you
and MIss Kristen will be taken care of.
You aren't being selfish, you are jsut
looking out for yourself............and
your daughter! Sound like a Mom don't
I????????? HUGS!

No. You aren't being selfish. You are
being quite reasonable for a person in
your situation. You are having a baby for
crying out loud! You are going to need
your family around for help.
You and Travis have not lived on your own
yet and now he wants to drag you off 4+
hours away from your families. You two
should get an apartment in town first,
live on your own for awhile before you run
off to the woodlands where you won't have
anyone to depend on when you need someone.

well he has been wanting to move in with
his best friend who live in the woodlands.
plans were for shawn (his friend) to move
down here and we were going to get a condo
or house pretty soon and live down here so
that we could be close to our families.
shawn is graduated from highschool and
about to start college which he was going
to do down here if he moved here...well i
guess travis and shawn want to go to the
woodlands (which is close to houston. a
VERY VERY bad place to live)
the whole reason travis mom and dad moved
to austin is because when travis lived in
houston he was hanging with the worng
people, doing drugs,in jail and in a
gang.
so they moved him up here to get away from
all of that. i dont know why he would want
to go back there? its such a horrible
place?
alot of hurricane katrina evacuees have
moved to houston and live there now. and
no offence but alot of them have turned
into crime thugs and so people are getting
murdered and robbed there all the time.
i dont want it to have to come down to
travis moving there by himself and i know
he wont
but i dont want him to be unhappy here
iether
he has to understand if i moved to the
woodlands i would seriously be so unhappy.
i would hate it. i would hate it so much.
i want to cry even thinking about moving
that far from my family. its so hard on me
because i miss my mom. and my dad. they
are divorced so i rarely see either of
them. and when i do its not for very long.
i wish my mom lived closer. infact shes
been thinking about moving closer to me
and travis so that when kristen is born
she will be closer than where she is now
whcih isnt too far away...but it would be
easier if she was closer lol

Then no. I don't think you're being
selfish at all. It sounds like he's being
rather childish and wants to do what
sounds like more 'fun' not what is most
practical. Have you calmly explained to
him what your reservations are about
moving there? What is his responce?

ingi i totally agree with you
we cant get an apartment though because we
have three pitbulls that we would never
part with
in texas they dont allow pits in
apartments
so wed have to get a condo or a house
which we could do
heck maybe even a duplex?

yeah i have
last night i told him i dindt want to go
he was like "just think about it"
"um ok i thought about it and i dont want
to go"
his reponce is "well we are going to
convince you"
boys are bad at listening
and im not going to talk about it with him
anymore
my answer is no and its final
i cant move there i just cant
we have a WONDERFUL opportunity here. ive
got an awsome job working with shelters
here in austin that they dont have in the
woodlands. its all perfectly laid out. we
live in a very nice part of town, and its
just practical to be here!

You'll have to check the condo rules in
your area ~ but I'll bet you won't be able
to have pit bulls there either.
A small house would be good maybe?

I wouldn't go if I were you, especially
since you said it's a bad place to
live...why would your man want his
daughter living in a bad place? That
doesn't sound very caring.
Three pittbulls around a newborn?
You have some guts. Maybe it's me...but
I've just heard so many bad things about
those kind of dogs...even when they were
raised right and not abused or anything.
Actually, I wouldn't have any kind of dog
around my children, ever.
Let's just say i'm too protective and have
a huge scar on my face from being bit by a
dog before. I hate dogs, hate hate hate
hate them....cats too!

ingi-
yeah im thinking a 2 bedroom house maybe?
rent here is so expensive though
where we live in lakeway... they pat $1500
a month for the house we have now
and thats RARE to find a house in this
area thats only $1500 a month
me and travis can probably find a decent
house 2 bedrooms for about $1000 a month
dalicia i love dogs i rescue dogs. they
arent for everyone lol but yes i have
three pits a basset hound and a beagle
plus my rescues whcih none currently since
ive been so lazy :/
pit bulls are actually great family pets
and yeah i know you hear alot of bad
things about them
but pit bulls actually have a lower
attach/bite rate than other dogs like
labs,chihuahuas and germanshepards!
howevere alot of parents dont want dogs
around kids which is understandable.
expecially since you were bit by a dog
once i can totally understand why you dont
like them lol

Houses are usually more expensive than
apartments. But even in a condo you have
to abide by the housing associations
rules. I'm pretty sure they might not
allow pit bulls. Heck, a lot of them don't
allow you to put your own flowers in or do
anything - even if you own it.
You and Travis should stay where you are
for awhile. Is he still in high school?
Because, I know people tell you this all
the time, (must be because it is true) but
you are going to need all the help you can
get in a few months. Besides! Think of
all the hands on deck you'll have ready to
take Kristen when she gets fussy!
Fabulous. Totally take advantage of that.
ETA: Spelling errors. What is up with me
lately? Ugh!

ha ha yeah i will look into the condo
thing but now that you mention it youre
right i dont think they will allow pit
bulls either
he does the same schooling i do
we do a home schooling program and its
great i love it. so we are both home
alot.
i really think we ill end up staying here
because overall he does listen to me (most
of the time) and after all he needs to
understand we have a better reason to stay
than to go ya know?
oh and im glad we are going to have so
much help after shes born lol
we will need it

He needs to grow up and put his daughter
first, her safety should be his top
priority! I think you are right not to go.
Try to move closer to your mum if
possible. I wouldnt have 3 pits around a
baby or any child personally. I dont doubt
they are great family pets overall if they
are raised right, but any dog can turn
suddenly and snap at a child, and my
problem is that when a pit attacks, it
doesn't stop. So it causes far more damage
than another breed would. This is one of
the reasons I got a chihuaha cross as our
family pet because they are so small they
cant injure anyone very badly. It would be
really easy to stop her aswell if anything
should happen, I can just pick her up.
Unlike with pits, people kick and beat the
heck out of them but they still continue
attacking the victim over and over.

a few years ago a chiuhua attacjked a two
year old boy in dallas texas and took his
eye out of the left side of his face
your right any dog can turn and kill
just like any person can
just like cats can
my dogs will be here no matter what kind
of dogs they are.
and pit bulls do not have a lock jaw
mechanism that causes them to latch on to
anything and not let go. you hear the
stories like this that targets the breed
only. just like you only hear about the
part of war in iraq where the iraqis are
killing us. you nevere here about how the
US bombs and kills so many over there
the media talls you what they want you to
hear.
you dont get the full side of it all.
and the most damging known breed of dogs
are labs and german shepards
dalmations have also killed many children
toy and small breeds attack the most
frequesntly and have injured more kids
than pit bulls/german shepards and labs
put together
yeah im not going to the woodlands and
thats final
im going to talk to him about it tomarrow

A pitbull killed a 3yr old girl over here
last year, they've killed many kids. Can
you see a chihuaha doing that? Thats my
point. Im not saying they have a lock jaw
mechanism, Im just saying when they attack
they do hang on with their teeth and they
continue to attack over and over. A
chihuaha cant kill anyone, well maybe a
tiny baby if it bit its throat, but not
anything bigger. And you can easily just
pick it up and remove it from the
situation, you cant get control of a
pitbull or other large breed like that. Im
just saying those safety issues were 2 of
my reasons for getting a really small dog.

yeah alot of people have strong dogs for
those reasons
but dont say you CANT get a pit bull away
from afight because you can
lots of dogs have killed lots of kids
lots of huans have killed lots of humans
thats like saying if one white man jkills
another person youll never allow white men
around yur kids because of that one white
man
every living thing has the potential to
kill
i uunderstand what youre trying to say
though

Travis sounds really immature. If I were
you I'd be ready to raise this child
alone. I'm not saying that will
definitely happen but you should be
prepared. You were spot on when you said,
"Boys don't listen" - 'boys' don't, men do.
Travis is behaving like a little boy and I
hope he doesn't manage to 'convince' you
to do anything that will put your
daughter's wellbeing at risk.

i expected him to maybe consider my
feelings a little bit better lol
so i brought it up last night though and i
said "look travis i really am not moving
there"
he said "i know i told shawn you didnt
want to move down there. so i guess me and
you will just have to find our own place
because shawn is probably staying in the
woodlands"
i explained to him id rather me and him
have our own place anyways...so we'll see
how it goes
