Our house needs painted! I'm so bad at picking colors. What looks good with what and blah blah blah. Anyone have any good ideas or websites I could go to? We are going to start with the bedroom and I would love to paint it some kind of a purple color. Or maybe not. I just can't make up my mind! Embarassed

i wish i knew anything about interior design but being an army wife its not worth the time and effort to paint when we have to paint it back white when we move, but eventually when we buy a house we can take our time to make it nice. My house now the walls are all white, i tried painting jordynnes room pink but the wall is plastered on part and the paint peeled right off so i gave up. My husband tried to make the houselook nice lol, he had blue rugs up here with our green couches lol, and salmon curtains so i took the curtains down and put the carpets in the basement lol. I think calm light colors are best.

That sounds very pretty, the seafoam green color! Our bedroom furniture is a very light color. I'm trying to work around that. Sears had a very pretty purple-ish comfortor set and the picture on the packaging showed it on a light colored bed so I'm kind of leaning that way.

This purple is a fairly light color. I tried to look at it on-line but it looks more grey than purple on the computer.

I'm with you on the brown! Light blue is an option. I think I may look into the sea foam green now. That sounds really pretty.

I can't get there from work. But, Home Depot has a great paint section inside the store with all sorts of card with paint options (base, highlight, and accent) with pictures of actual rooms. I would assume they have something similar online. Umm, hgtv probably has something that would help too.

is your bedding purple or does it have purple in it? when we were looking for a shade of purple to paint our dresser, we brought our duvet cover to home depot and matched it right there and it's perfect.

i'd definitely go light.

I agree with MC4ever02....home depot, lowes even Walmart has color charts in the paint section. take into consideration, lighter colors make hte room appear larger where as a dark color will make it look smaller. Also, trim color? if you go basic white or beige, you cna always change wall color and leave trim! I've repainted every room in our house a dozen times and even just redid hte shutters, windows and doors this year! I lOVE to paint and I' really good at it! Wish I were there to help you! Just painted the kitchen a fawn beige color, looks great with my new black applicances and new marble counter tops. The-Girlfriend had a great idea my neice's bedroom is done in tourqouise and browns.........but thats quickly going "OUT" so she tells me....Miss New York! I like pale yellow walls with WHITE trim, its makes everything so open and sunny! Are you in an apartment or house?

Behr paint is the best! If you have a color you want to match, just scan it at the Home Depot and it will come out with a whole scheme with wall, borders, and accents. It's amazing. Behr is really easy to use. It covers well and cleans up well.

Bridget: I'm re-doing everything, so we will be getting a new comfortor and curtains, the whole shebang! I do want to go light to help make the room look bigger.

Fairy Godmother (sorry I don't know your name): I wish you were here to help too! You sound like just the person I need! lol The trim color and all doors are stained very dark so I'm planning on painting all of that too. We own the house. Pale yellow sounds really pretty. What color comfortor and curtains would you suggest to go with that. I'm up for anything!

Cindy (right? lol) I've heard a lot of good things about Behr!
