I have been on depo provera for 5 months now and I have had my period the whole time. Before I went on depo I was taking ortho tricyclen. I decided to switch because I had been on the pill for about 3 years and I was starting to experience late cycle spotting, really really light in the week just before my period was due. I heard this could be because I was on it for so long. I guess my swich was a bad choice.

My question is, i'm due for my next shot in two weeks and i'm going to start the pill, possibly this sunday. Does anyone know how long it usually takes for the spotting to stop? I just want to go back to having normal periods.

I've heard 7-10 days, has anyone else experienced this? Question
