Question About Ligament Stretching
Posted: 09-23-07 12:00pm

I went through a miscarriage in July, and i have returned to my cycle. We are trying to have a healthy baby this time. I wont know if im pregnant until Thursday i have to wait to see is my period come but i have this stretching feeling on my side and it sort of feels like ligament stretching when i was 5 weeks the first time around. Is this possible so early on?

I don't believe ligaments would be stretching this early. It's normal to have cramping early on but ligament stretching happens quite a bit later. I'm 20 weeks and haven't had it too long. I'm not saying it's not possible but it's not very likely. I hope this turns out to be a good month for you!!!

I used to get that a lot during my tww. I did have sharp pains on my side during early pregnancy but it wasn't ligaments stretching. I had a corpus luteum cyst, which is very common in early pregnancy. It's what produces all the hormones for the baby (like progesterone) until the placenta takes over. Or you could just have a cyst in general. Sometimes your body doesn't release the egg and it can cause a cyst on your ovary which can cause sharp pain.
