Hi ladies, once again my DH work timing is impeccable! He left for work up north for (3 weeks) at 4 am friday morn. Sad The last time we BD was Thursday night. The monitor is telling me at high fertility time today (Sun)
Is there a chance swimmers are still swimming?? I have read somewhere that in optimal conditions they could survive up to 6-7 days. Has anyone else read this. We used pre-seed for the first time as well. Razz
What do you think?? Confused

I think you might have a good chance. Those little guys can be pretty resiliant and might still be swimming. Really thats only three days, thats not that long.

Good luck this month...

Oh and sorry dh is gone for so long. It sounds like you might be used to it, but I sure wouldn't be able to handle that.

Well, you would be surprised what you get used to Star, when he first started leaving home for weeks at a time i was a mess. we never spent that much time apart. I cried all the time but it didn't change anything so i guess I just got stronger.
I tend to work more when he is away to keep me preoccupied. All those animals have a way of cheering me even on my sadest days. Smile
Anyway, monitor still saying high today but not peaked yet but I am trying to be optimistic, I read some where if you want a girl to BD 4-5 days before ov, so I am right on schedule for that. (not that I care one way or the other)
What is also weird this month I have cramps like AF is coming and not the usual pressure feeling around the ovaries. Confused
I don't know I guess only time will tell.
Has everyone cut out caffeine completely or do you sneak a coffee once in awhile??

Good for you...Im glad the animals can keep you happy while he is gone. My husband went away for 3 weeks for work once right before we got married...That was so hard I never want to do that again.

I've not heard anything about db 4-5 days before O for a girl...but hey its worth trying...

And no I haven't cut out caffeine completely. I wouldn't be able to function if I did that. Before ovulation, I drink one cup of Green Tea in the morning. That gives me just enough energy to get going. Then sometimes I have a glass of iced green tea in the afternoon, but not always. After ovulation, I sometimes still drink the green tea, but this month, I went back to a cup of coffee in the morning. DH makes fresh ground french vanilla coffee in the morning with carmel vanilla creamer. Its like going to Starbucks right in my kitchen.

I don't know if that is good or bad, but I don't usually have more than 1 1/2 cups of caffeine a day.

They say that girl swimmers are slower and last longer and that boy swimmers are faster and die sooner. So, when you bd for gender they say the 3ish days out for a girl. But, I'm not sure how accurate that is. It's just something 'they' say. If you bd 3 days before 'o', ff still gives you a 'good' in the conception advisor (I think thats what its called).

As for the caffeine, I have really cut back. WAY back. But, I don't limit myself. After all I'm not pregnant. And if I did everything (or didn't do anything) because I 'could' be pregnant, I could be holding out for a long time. I just try to do everything in moderation. But, if I want a cup of coffee, I'll drink a cup of coffee.

Smile I tried doing the no coffee thing today, had decaf this morning. i went to town did some banking a little shopping then the headache was getting stronger & stronger.
Just got home and made some coffee, couple sips & bam headache is gone. I guess I won't be cutting out caffeine all together, can't stand the headaches. Cool
Wish DH wasn't gone so long, its only been 4 days and I miss him already, I still have a loooong wait til he is back home. I go back to work tomorrow though so that should keep me busy.
Sending out tons of baby dust to all of you
Best of luck this month!! Very Happy
