I would like to say hi and thank you for such a wonderful site with so much imformation. I was told I had lupus 9 years ago after blood work was done because I had a rash on my face that wouldn't go away. I was going through alot of medical problems then and after we got some control on it I let it go to the back of my mind..Now I am having alot of medical problems again but trying to stay away from doctors. I have hot flashes offen..Getting dizzy..Problems with kidney pain..Shortness of breath..Pains in the chest..Depression (which is major at this time), my stomach stays sick and leg cramps mostly at night but have been getting them during the day too..And pain in the upper right hand side of my stomach...It's like everything is attacking me at once most days I am to tired to get out of bed and when I do I get tired really easy. Can someone tell me first how to stop all this again and second how to get out of this depression or at least handle it without being put back on pills for it. I am afraid of the medication for depression last time I was on it I always thought about killing myself (will admit the thought has crossed my mind again without the pills). I just would like some advice..I don't have health insurance so going to the doctor is out of the question at this point..Oh the pain in my kidneys was so bad I did go to the hospital er one that takes people on low income and guess what he put me on pain pills and sent me home I never got the medicine, I don't want to cover what's happening with pills or I won't know when it get's to the point of costing me my life. Please help ty ...Bonnie

Welcome Bonnie
Welcome to the forum. It's wonderful that you were able to control things for so many years without much medical assistance. It sounds like you need some help now. I don't know where you live, but there are always public assistance programs or community hospitals that determine charges by what you can afford.

Lupus is an over-active immune system. Right now you need to help shut it down. Your only choice might be medication, but if you get it before it gets any worse, you might be able to prevent further damage. Only a doctor can tell you what to do.

Good luck

Hi magicsunshine! I am ladybrannon. It is nice to meet you!

Please see a doctor. If you don't have insurance, most public health depts. Can help you. With you having symptoms, you need to make sure that the lupus is not active (active lupus means damage).

Please keep us informed and let us know how you are doing!
Hugs,
ladybrannon
