My mother and sister were with my dad when he had a heart attack. It happened at home. It took the ambulance 8-10 minutes to arrive. My mom and sister panicked and didn’t give him CPR. No one is exactly sure how long he went without oxygen. My mom said the paramedics worked on him at the house for about 20-30 minutes. They were able to revive him. Now he's been in the hospital for exactly 2 weeks today.

He's been asleep ever since the heart attack and hasn't woken up yet. His EEG came back poor, which is a brain activity test. But some doctors don’t rely on that procedure. Sometimes he'll open his eyes, and it sometimes seems he realizes someone is trying to talk to him. Everyone in the family takes turns talking to him when they visit.

We put on his favorite shows at night. All his vital signs are stable and he still has a blocked artery to his heart. The doctors won’t perform surgery on the artery till he wakes up. The person that performed the EEG said he can hear us and reacts to pain and sounds. Can someone relate to this situation or know someone who has and what was the outcome. Please reply. Thank You and God Bless.

Thank You very much, He has never had heart problems. He never complained or said anything, he went to check up regularly. He also took medicine for high blood pressure and cholesterol. But, my mother said he hadn't had a stress test in several years.

Im a little angry because i feel that my father had a false sense of secruity taking the pills for the HBP and Cholesterol, I believe that he thought he was o'k by going to his routine check ups and taking his pills. He didn't have a completely healthy diet but he did eat alot of fish and chicken. he also was active, he was always keeping up with the yard and building things for the house.

I hope the lord decides to leave him with us a little longer.

How's your dad doing?
