I am allergic to allopurinol, but have heard that there is another drug used in Europe and not yet approved in this country. Does anyone know of it?

Perhaps you are thinking about Rasburicase. It's been used investigatively in cases like yours with great success. You just have to find a doctor who will try it on you.

Another Option
You may want to ask your Dr. about Febuxostat also. Used here in the USA for folks with sensitivity to Alopurinol and Probenicid.
