I'm a New Diabetic Posted: 03-25-04 01:31am
I've heard about amputation and blindness.
What part of being a diabetic can cause
this? Is there any warning signs that
headed in that direction?

The part where diabetic complications
start is when you let your blood sugar
numbers stay way too high, for too long.
That is when the trouble starts. Keeping
tight control, according to the numbers
your doctor wants you to have, is the key
to avoiding horrible complications and
leading a long, active life. I hope you
have been to a doctor, preferably and
endo, and a dietician to help with your
meal planning.

Hello this is emily's aunt. The part of
diabetes that causes internal organs to be
damaged is the nerves to that organ
eventually get damaged or die from the
high blood sugar. This can also cause
tingling or a shocking type feeling in
different parts of the body, or pain and
numbness.
